Butler is just a placeholder and he hasn't really lived up to his hype. He was better off on a team like the Bulls, like Rose, as a franchise player that is respected; they were a face of their franchise and they just have a respectable team that loses. The Heat is kinda boring or it needs to find its next DWade type of player (since he retired) to bring interest. That was the role Butler was going to try to fill in. But he really can't clutch or win games like those mvp players can. That or try to make a team that is interesting that has dynamic to win somehow. They sometimes hype up a player like that and people expect them to do great things but they never really did it. Instead the Heat to me (as someone who doesn't even watch) became a team where they resorted to solid basic team ball where every teammate has to do well for them to have a chance to win, which is fine, but there was no exceptional playing even if you expected it. They tried but they fell short and they needed someone special who could clinch the game and score when the time came. Now no one expects a team like the Heat to win and they probably do not have anyone obvious that is going to come soon. What happened to that excitement like that draft with Lebron, Wade, etc. and all of that? I saw them trying to hype up players but they were bad playesr like that lalelo ball guy or whatever his name was, generic broclli heads, or they were just kinda average, nothing special to see there now. Since then it's probably similar, not much happening there. There are some new players but I haven't heard of anything special. No one is working like at that level. If you say he helps, it's more like he helped by bringing money, or some player you 'expected' to do things but he usually didn't. I bet thru the last 3 to 5 years where I stopped watching entirely not much has changed there, he just was placed in a good spot where he could make the shots but he usually missed them or didn't step up or do anything special. So whats the point if the top player is only there to generate revenue and hyped up but he didn't clutch those? Butler like Rose was always a Bulls player, on a team that was never going to win and he scored like 12 pts some games, hyped up as like an mvp but we all know he isn't that caliber. Again doubt much has changed in the last few yrs, has he done any changes? Let me know. That's great if you liked him but I don't think anyone was thinking like 'Wow this Butler led team is going to the finals and may win'. I probably still won't watch it but I bet they'd have a better shot with some new talent.

Jimmy deserves a ring and idc if heat fans get butt hurt hearing this, Pat & the FO FAIL HIM !!!! Jimmy carried this team of mostly G league players for the past five years. Only other player that could do what Jimmy did is lebron James 9 years ago.
