@merimkastrat58465 ай бұрын
1980 seems more fleshed out since in the earliest, it never shown how or why he is allowed to drive a car. The 1980 actually shows it where he was never even allowed to drive it. So technically, he stole it and then crashed it.

@theramdomchannel83295 ай бұрын
If we are talking realism, car accidents are very common. For all we know he did take the car without permission. The lab accident feels a little forced, and there was no need to change the whole way he died specially since it was such an iconic scene, but the whole 2009 movie was kinda terrible, this one scene isnt the worst part by far
@night-x67935 ай бұрын
I understand the old ones because driving laws weren't that restricted and the idea of future cars being safer for anyone was most likely the idea at that time. But still the idea of a kid driving any vehicle is frowned upon in this era which the last 2 did make the most sense for a accidental death scene.
@JoseArmandoSaint-HilaireAcosta5 ай бұрын
@@theramdomchannel8329 i guess it is kinda forced but it also helped to set the common rivalry troughout the movie,as in the robot winning the first fight but then astro becoming a robot overtakes him,somehow a last testament to the change astro had trough the movie,to beat the enemy who cost him his life as showing him surpassing his past self and being reborned into a better being

What's sad is some people speculate Tobey knew his father lied to him right up to his death in the 2009 movie...another empty promise that was made to blind him to his incoming death. The demand to know where his son was, was just him refusing to accept reality... his denial to accept his son's death, and his denial to accept Astro Boy, robots as a whole, and denial of the true nature of his actions... the climax of these movies usually show him understanding how destructive he became and coming to terms with that as a character, and redeeming himself not only as a scientist, but as a father.

Idk, it felt more ridiculous to me. The narrator even had to stress the sanity of a kid driving in a car on the highway. 😂 The more modern adaptations make more sense. Like I don't care if it's the future and self driving could be a possible excuse, having a kid just go on a joyride in a car just feels crazy. Like wouldn't said car then identify the driver if it's so advanced? It's just a very messy origin story, and I'm glad the modern adaptations fixed it.

The pattern I’m detecting is that Tobio’s hat is the only keepsake remaining, which is ironically plot armor for the hat itself (in an almost literal sense). Truth be told, as gutwrenching as Astro’s reason for existence might be, there’s something about being disintegrated by cosmic energy that seems like a better (as in not as agonizing) way to go than being smashed at a high rate of speed with the combined unforgiving nature of circuits and steel
