The point of this song isn't that Toby wasn't paying attention it's that the girl was hiding her pain and never gave him a sign that something was wrong
@andrewmoran95854 жыл бұрын
I feel the point of this song isn’t him bitching about it I feel he is kore remorseful for his mistakes. He knows he was wrong and wishes he would have known. She hid her emotions. It’s not even about crying it’s about not knowing what is actually going on.

I agree with you. My experience is a lot of people just don't listen. I never fought, or screamed, when I had enough, I just left. I would tell husband how I felt and he would tell me I expected too much. My daughter said "Daddy doesn't have to be nice to us, because he knows we can't leave". Well, we did. Years later, he was in therapy and another daughter heard him tell the therapist, "She wanted things and I wouldn't give them to her". I want to say, it was not material things, I wanted him to emotionally be there for me and the 2 daughters he wanted. One time, when I was in therapy, he went an entire week and never even said "Hello" to the girls. he would come in, sit down, eat, never say anything to the kids. He wasn't there for us. I was never going to get married again, but after 15 years being single, I did remarry. Best decision I could have made.

In like 9th grade, I came to a realization that tears weren’t a sign of weakness, but could be one of ultimate strength. “Here, see my soft spot. I’m showing it, and I’m ok because I know I’m safe” Fast forward a few years and a few rough patches and battered relationships of all kinds. When I first heard this song, I was hiding my depression again. It didn’t occur to me that her tear at the beginning could have been a happy one. That combined with the line that she’s gone later made me think that even through the wedding she was broken-hearted and ended her life soon after it. But NO-I had forgotten my revelation. In her new relationship, she’s not afraid. She feels free to show her full feelings. In this relationship, she’s strong enough to cry.

People tend to be oblivious to what's right in front of them.. men and women alike should equally give and pay attention. it should never be placed on one or the other . If you truly want a relationship to work, you both need to give equal.. simple as that. There needs to be strong communication. .I've made enough mistakes in my past and some current relationships.. There needs to be a mutual respect for not just hearing your spouse, but actually listening to what they are saying and what they are not saying..

Do She Wouldn’t be Gond by Blake Shelton Agree about she probably showed signs but he didn’t realize how bad it was. But I think he also missed and never saw the tears of happiness (those would be the good kind). Sounds like she bottled up her emotions in their relationship. Still love the song though.

Sometimes men can be a little….dense. Country singers usually represent a generation where men work, provide for their “woman” and think all is well. It isn’t. I know it’s just a song, but apparently the male character was oblivious….”if I was putting her through hell, hell I couldn’t tell. If she’d have given me a sign and opened up my eyes….” I truly think he’s truly sorry and heartbroken. She was “slowly letting go” so perhaps she wasn’t communicating either. The writer in me could make a book of this song. So go get her! Bust into the church, pick her up over your shoulder and spend the rest of your life making her happy! Or, some men are self centered, narcissistic assholes. I don’t think that’s the case here because he feels regret. Amazing and thought provoking song!

I'm going to take a hard line with this one. People need to step up and voice what's going on with themselves? So other people can make decisions about the relationship, honestly. I spent 20 years married to a guy who decided he was gay. I did my own thing and he carried my purse. No hard feelings, just saying we aren't mind readers.

I think if you're in a committed relationship and you do not speak to your needs with your partner you are just as guilty as the partner that is blind to what you're feeling. Apparently the relationship wasn't important enough to her for her to speak up and say hey this isn't working for me. Communication you got to use it
