I get frustrated with myself because when I watch other streamers I forget that we're only seeing their best. It's good to know that even great players still make a lot of mistakes, we can all learn and get better no matter how good or bad we are. I need to put more importance on the vod reviews, once in awhile I will watch my epic replay but it is not the same, I'm on a PS5 so I definitely need to start screen recording and watching them back. Thank you as always learned a lot!

Thanks so much for this video. I find that I play best when I'm resisting my natural inclination. See a shiny piece of loot or a medallion - don't pick it up. See the opportunity to third party - make sure there isn't a fourth player that sees the same thing that you do. Want to push straight at a player - move to a better position, reload, heal first. I'm so bad at this game that the opposite of what I think I should do is usually the better choice.

Thanks for taking the time to review your games and learn because it helps us in your community learn too. I found myself in the exact same end game scenario as you did in reckless. 4 players left, storm was closing. I got the jump on a player and won but the fight left me weak and the last player was just sitting on the hill waiting to light me up.

Yea thatw what ive been noticing too, if your not carrying medkits + big pots. Then probs not smart to get into a late game fight knowing you may not find heals again before your next fight which you will lose almost certainly.

I appreciate you doing this video so much!! When you make your career out of being a Fortnite pro I imagine it's not easy to share your fails, but it's honestly SO helpful to see the mistakes, and especially to hear your thoughts on what you did wrong and what you'd do differently. It's genuinely educational.

Nothing dumb about making mistakes, we all do it. It's actually one of your video's that made me stop feeling dumb about mistakes. You just did that vid about right hand peek and I kept forgetting until it was too late and got mad at myself for it. Then I saw a video of you in which you made the same mistake twice so I thought: if he forgets while he's the one who thought me maybe I shouldn't be too hard on myself..

Thanks for this post, Tobi. I’m a cautious player - but it’s rooted in me not having much confidence until I’m down to the last 10 players. Then the fear just kicks in and sometimes the practice takes over my thinking. Not nearly as much as I’d like.. but that I learned from one of your past videos - letting yourself go in to auto mode. It really helped. I’m going to look for some tendencies now to see how I die most. And it’s a lot! Side note here is playing squads i always have 1 or 2 buds who like to push at all times… trying to get them patient so if we push, we do it all at once and communicate along the way. My improvement is so much a result of watching your videos. Really appreciate you!

Great advice man, impatience always ends badly for these games. Not sure if you knew you can double or triple dash when you're in water, but you just look all the way up and mash the dash. I cover way more ground, harder to hit and most people dash once per surfacing, so you can evade faster.

Honestly this is SO useful. I dont usually see examples of mistakes that I myself make, so this gives me a lot of perspective on the way that i play. I know im a good player but i tend to either panic and stay still and shoot, or rush players that have an advantage over me. Or run with my back facing them for way too long. And loot 🤦‍♀️ I make a LOT of these exact mistakes and i couldnt pinpoint them exactly til i saw you go step by step through your own. EDIT: Something im noticing aswell in your fights around 32:30 is that you could be landing into a slide after those big jumps. At the underworld if you slid while shooting that person you wouldve slid into the water and gotten some dashes. Ive gotten in the habit of using slides whener i can, especially after dashes or nitro fish dashes, gives you much more diatance, saves stamina, and makes you harder to hit than a standing target :)

Great vid. It's annoying because you can only get really good at this game - or any shooter really - by playing aggressively and pushing your limits. It's then challenging to step back and know when to tone down the aggression and how to play smart now that you've got the mechanical skills built up. Always a balancing act.

Lol... W video tho man.10 out of 10... I think in ranked you need to land near a medallion spot loot and shield up then be the guy who 3rd party the player fighting the boss.... If they get away with the medallion 🤷‍♂️ least your still alive survived off spawn and not loosing as much rank... Since your streaming too, your also landing hot for more entertaining games, and action.. not realizing you will still have lots of fights landing near by the medallion looting then going to fight for medallion instead.. You can land where brite raider usually is (she wont be there in ranked obviously) but you still get cactus and some loot and a jump pad to rotate towards brutal or redline.... if your contested theres mega depo or a few desert bush spots with less loot and cactus to fall back too as back up.. Sometimes ya go with plan B or even plan C lol and oddly enough those games that dont start as planned can be crazy and turn into a dub too

Toby please take what I am going to say with love. I get that I am not on your skill level so far be it me to criticize a better player but I watch a ton of comp/ranked game play. The one major flaw I see consistently in your ranked gameplay is that you play ranked like you play pubs. I'm not sure if its a bi-product of the fact that because you make a living off streaming you play a lot of pubs or if its just that you don't have enough experience in ranked/comp matches. But you seem to want to push every fight, you want to play like Z or Frode; but the problem with that is there are very few players I watch on a regular basis that have enough pure gun skills that can make up for a bad push. I haven't made it through the entire video yet ( I am about 25 minutes in) but in both the endgame you lost in Grim and the endgame you lost in Railways you are running a 3 gun loadout, heals, and mobility. While I agree with your assessments on why you lost those fights I am perplexed that in going into those endgames with the zones pulling how they are you aren't at the very least carrying bubbles. On the grim fight the boom bow without the nitro medallion is kind of meh, at best you hade the mythic AR and mythic combat which is really all you need for distance and mid/short range fighting. In the railways fight again you have both the mythic AR and mythic combat shotgun so why the need for the burst? At least with bubbles when you take the fight up top at the hut on the bridge you have the ability to pop some form of cover to survey your surroundings. In almost all the games I watch whether its Dump, Frode, Z, Twinkies, Crackly, NPEN or whomever in ranked a two gun loadout is optimal. If you have the mythic combat then they usually opt for a AR and if they have a gatekeeper they usually opt for the burst unless is builds then its always pump/burst. The next thing I would hit on and you hit on it yourself is patience. The one thing that I have noticed that really separates the good players I see with the highest success rates in high level competition play is the ability to wait for a fight to turn on a advantage for them before they get too deep into it. With a guy like Twinkies you see him all the time start a engagement and the moment it looks like the engagement is becoming a situation where it is highly likely to become 3rd partied he will fully disengage. The ability to walk away from a potential kill in the early and midgame for success in the late game is something they seem to be more focused on and they can still drop 15-20 kill solo games in ranked. Other guys like Z or Frode lean on their aggression to causes players to make the mistake they need. You seem to want to play the "dragon playstyle" when the situation you are going into with your current skill level doesn't make for the best combination and it might be better to just let that one go and opt for a advantage in positioning We see this again at about the 31:00 mark where you kill the guy outside of the windmill building near Lavish, you point this out you are looting and here comes the 3rd party. Toby you have talked about this in your discord and in your videos with people who complain about 3rd parties in you FFA map and all the changes they want to you make to make 3rd parting more difficult and your push back has been that it simply isn't realistic. When you get a kill you need to immediately reposition so that you can reload and such which is spot on and great practice for ranked, but then you get in ranked and you finish a kill and twice now in these this video you have gotten yourself caught off guard by not playing by those same rules. In the windmill fight you are looting in the water with the current against you when in reality the best play would have been to get out, maybe get to the building reload, and give it a second to see if a 3rd party is coming before you go for the loot. In pubs it doesn't matter because you are better than 90% of the players you are going to come across but in Elite+ ranked while you are a better player than a lot of the guys you are coming up against you give them the advantage outright which is enough to close the skill gap between you and them. All and all this is a great video and a great learning experience for both you and us as the viewer. VOD reviews are so important. Those of us with Master member subs over with MF do VOD review sessions with him and they have always been great for not just the person being reviewed but for everyone in the call to ask questions and to learn from each other. I have seen Clix and other FNCS players do VOD reviewing in group discord call with 6 or 7 ppl all looking at game footage and picking it apart, and even over on Dyzz server I have seen Thad or Dump, or Frode get each other together and VOD review through discord a endgame fight and a lot of time I try to get in on those calls just to learn from what they are seeing themselves do wrong. It probably the most under utilized too that players have for improvement. Keep your head up Toby. Like I said I think part of the issue is you play so many pub games that you just haven't developed the muscle memory needed for ranked but the more you play it the better you will be and who knows one day we might see Toby in a cash cup out there fighting some of our favorite pro players!

We secessfully eliminate five or six duos and on the late game my party buddy suddenly disappeared of my screen and i see only his name and his moving like a crazy in a different directions. I can't catch up with him even using a shockwave grenade or grappler and then he start to takind down one by one players without me. He start fights against two or three people at same time. In the end of the game he killed solo all other players solo( about 7 duos) and we win the game. Next game he make same thing and i walking alone after him to pick up the loot their drop. I asked him on the mic if he was using some kind of 3d party software and he immediately left the party and blocked me on social...

You said this:"in ranked people don't miss", but that's not true. In ranked and unranked about 60% of players use some kind of an aim bot or dma card, or kvm and get unfair advantage. It's impossible to oneshot player with white weapon without using a trigger bot or prefire 3d party software. I spectate so many players after my death and what i see in their aim is unbelievable, their bullets are like magic bullets and going straight into your head every time. In my opinion this gameplay isn't normal at all...
@TobyWanShinobi
@TobyWanShinobi 3 ай бұрын
Not 60% - maybe about .01%. If you aren't competing in the top 1% of players, its unlikely you will ever run into a cheater. I am in the top 1% and I have only ran into a couple of cheaters this season. A lot of people don't know what really good aim looks like vs aim bot. I have spent about 350 hours in aim trainers and I've had many people call me a cheater for my good aim, but in reality my aim is just "average" compared to aim gods who have spent thousands of hours working on their aim. At that point, pretty much everyone thinks they are cheating. But from my understanding, cheating is difficult and expensive to pull off - it requires 2 PCs to setup, a connection to a cheat creator with a very small amount of clients so they don't get caught and apparently the cheats are like $1,000 dollars. Its not something every kid can setup. You see cheaters in cash tournaments and occassionally ranked in Unreal Lobbies, but I've only ran into 2 this season myself. They are a lot less common than people think. Once you know what is possible with really good aim, and you know what natural aim looks like vs aimbot, you know how to spot a cheater. Real aim always has a fast initial flick, followed by a quick microcorrection. Fortnite replays are always innacurate and don't show you true gameplay, so its hard to tell. But real aimbot just doesn't miss headshots - at pretty much anything within medium range. And they will almost always use an automatic weapon because it gives them the biggest advantage because they put themselves at the least amount of risk. I promise you I have about 20 people on my friends list who you'd swear are cheating - but I know for a fact they are not. Just watch Zarraxus on KZbin if you want to know what I mean - he has over 2,000 hours spent in Kovaaks aim training.

Shouldn’t it be the opposite, like the more kills you get the slower you move, maybe give the low ranks infinite nitro? Idk man, it needs addressed otherwise it’s unplayable for most

@goldmiiind I have no control over who plays my map. I dont know either of those players, but they sound lame. You can report players for teaming using the in-game reporting system, but that's about all that can be done. I can't ban anyone from the map, unfortunately. Anyone who is ahead of 2nd place by 10 kills is marked by a white beam that can be seen across the map, this is to help with situations where someone is dominating. Everyone gets 20 gold when they die - they spend it however they'd like. If you die more often, you actually get more gold than those who get kills. It's 5 gold per kill and 20 gold per death. This is to help more novice players get an advantage. If you can't get enough utility, open chests around the map.

@goldmiiind - when you play these maps, regardless of how much you die… I promise you are getting better. I felt frustrated like you, but the more I pushed through and kept playing, I eventually started killing those players because they get over confident and use the same predictable methods of pressing. Bait and kill them. It’ll feel great when you finally get them. Don’t give up - Tobi will look out for you best he can.

ZB 2nd is worth 56pts.. Right? I do that with a pickaxe & a car. Tiger ain't all you need. Sometimes it's best to Rat out in a hole until the T-Rex's are dead.
