Just to add to healthcare. Healthcare can be completely free if you are covered by medicare for example someone who wants to have a baby or visits emergency department. However, one can also choose to seek private care at private hospital/Gp's that bill etc. In public again as a public inpatient you dont pay a cent for d/c meds from the hospital but if you get them outside you will pay. Private in patients pay for everything. Lastly in regards to NHS being completely free. In Australia I can call my doctor (GP) office and get an appointment same day or within 2 days. In the NHS it is extremely difficult to see a GP face to face unless something is really really wrong and most of it is telehealth/phone consult outside of serious issues.

As an Australian, GUESS AGAIN! ONLY THE HEALTH INDUSTRY HERE IS " ONLY A PLACE OF BUSINESS " AS EPWORTH TOLD ME. Telehealth is now private. You must pay up to $100. I have to wait 2 weeks to see my own doctor. If you're on low income in Australia, it really is SHIT. Mental health is very very bad.

Great insight... A little correction though. School is not free in UK from 3 years. You only have 15hrs of free child care btw 3-4 years or 30 hrs if you are a permanent resident with ILR and both parents work and earn a certain amount. From 4 years, it's free for all.

Forgot to add that Australia is far neater. I find London subways extremely filthy. Couldn't use the restroom even after paying in one of those stations(I think Paddington or victoria). Plus a sizable number of people still practice subtle discrimination in the UK which is worse than overt racism.

I've been to the UK twice. Australia is generally much cleaner than the UK. London streets are absolutely filthy compared to Sydney or Melbourne.

Ur experience with the UK is totally opposite from mine. I work as a quant in the city of London and make £16000 monthly excluding bonus. They are many people making good money here. Sme nurses around wales area are making above £85 per hour as an agency nurse. Australia is well known to be more racist than the UK whether over or covert. Here in the UK I visit Ghana like 5 to 6 times in a year. There is no way i would be able to do that in Australia. Also the cost of sending goods back home is cheaper on the UK. Also the proximity of the UK to Europe means u can easily book very cheap holiday holidays to many European countries

Firstly Australia,New Zealand, Canada and the commonwealth Western countries are extensions of the British colonies. The UK is still way ahead in terms of quality of life comparing the minimum wage in uk is £ 9.90 vs $ 20 aud. When you spread that figure you can deduce that Australia tax exemption pay for $18000 compare to UK is about 10k. However the tax exemption pay in Uk start above £12,500.
@shingiriraiguvamombe22902 жыл бұрын
That is not entirely true. All these countries that you mentioned are self governing countries independent of the UK. They are simply former British colonies like India and South Africa. Nothing special in that historical fact. In addition, countries like Australia have some unique advantages to UK such as more space, less pollution, bigger houses, better weather and less crowded which are indisputable
@sethzenger62262 жыл бұрын
Lol at that. I know tons of people leaving the UK for Canada and Australia. My cuz was based in London UK and moved to Vancouver Canada. She says the two are incomparable 😅 Salaries are also way higher in Canada and Oz even if we factor in the higher cost of living.

For the Uk to still look the way it is, we should give it some credit considering how old the country is. Australia, Canada, America are all new countries so do your research properly before migrating to any country and choose the one the meets your life style the most.

A bit clueless - both host and guest. Dragging their words and not addressing key issues. 1 - hourly rates is relative. You don't just say hourly rates are high without comparing it to benchmark international currencies. How much is 20 Australian dollars in Euro, GBP OR USD? Know what this is before concluding that hourly rate is high. 2 She says housing in the suburbs is cheap. Again, you are talking to an audience mostly Nigerian students. First clarify how many hours per week a student is permitted to work and then briefly explain affordability (including bills, transport, feeding etc.) on AUD $20 per hour. 3. Healthcare - again you need to be clear if students get free healthcare or not instead of just open ended responses. Many so called bloggers claim they know things while infact they don't. Learn to discuss issues in the proper context so you can provide your audience with the details they need. Instead of still leaving them confused after listening to you. I hope you take these points on board. Ciao.

West Africans from Nigeria & Ghana tend to prefer the UK and Southern Africans although also moving to the UK have traditionally dominated African immigration to Australia & New Zealand. Stats show the biggest communities of people with an African connection in Australia & New Zealand are from South Africa followed by Zimbabwe. I think Europe for West Africans makes sense because of proximity to home. And for Southern Africa, well Europe in not exactly near although near compared to the land down under, however with direct flights between Joburg & Perth, staying in the Southern hemisphere might not be a bad proposition after all.
