mirror mage and georgius was the people who responsible sealing the three dragons, mirror mage is prior of the ice barrier. their effect match the story in spectacular way, georgius pulled mirror mage from the domain, then george made a noble sacrifice by letting himself trapped in the mirror by prior which effectively worse fate than death itself, frozen domain is where prior reminiscence georgius death and fowed that the seal will never broken.

this deck rules! It's very tight both in main deck and extra, but I will vouch for Diva as a good pick for a starter because being a level 2 tuner that summons hexa without locking means a diva plus any two runicks can net you an early herald to play around nib + a level 10 before locking (meaning you can go for baronne if you need to, but most of the time lancea is a more stable choice) and a level 8. I had also never seen deep sea prima donna being used but it's actually kinda insane in the grind game indeed, will def have to consider crafting one myself

He's right, but for the wrong reason. Revealer getting negated is the same as hexa (or Deep Sea Diva, for those who have cooked more runick barrier). You still go into sprind with hugin and keep playing, though you had to discard an extra card as revealer's cost. Revealer is inferior to diva since it locks you into water, making the runick engine just backrow interrupts. Pros and cons to running revealer since she's a 1.5 card combo with toad, but fountain has to be hard drawn via croc

I agree it doesn’t feel like the decks best starter but I definitely think it needs to be run at a single copy at least. There are lines it allows for going into toad early to avoid Nib. It is also a good card to use in the grind game which Runick decks inevitably will have to face

Hopefully they make some more water synchros with some more ice barrier monsters. Btw Revealer can combo with the trap Ice Barrier. As her discard cost will send the trap to the GY in turn letting you get the level 6 water monster to your hand if you don't have it. Ice barriers are fun and really they could be very dangerous if they get more support and it is the right kinda support.

I've been playing this runick ice barrier since the deck came out, and it was wierd seeing josh cut revealer and ignore ran aegirine. Both cards let you discard mirror magic which is better due to fountain being limited. Imo the extra is super tight but I think you should be playing trish zero for the potent board wipe and a second copy of lancea, it does mean you would likely have to play only one copy each of hugin and geri but so far I think its been worth it.

Revealer locks you out of using Runick Fusions, which isn’t great in a Runick deck, also no toad so revealer has zero anti-nibiru combos unlike hexa or diva. You don’t run enough Water monsters for Aegerine, and most of them, except for Mirror Mage, you’d rather summon or use as extensions instead of discarding them. Even if you want to discard, Runick already does that.

@@arkas4376 in MD if you draw fountain your combo is dead, since you have no way to dump/discard mirror magic, except for hexa which is extremely vulnerable to disruption. Revealer's discard is a cost which forces your opponent to either let you summon lancea or do the draw 4 if not both. The same is true for arginine who can also discard mirror magic as well or a less vital ice barrier. Ice barrier has enough free bodies with speaker, georgius and tokens that you shouldn't need the runick fusions for levels. As fairly often they just sit in the EMZ needing to be cleared for coral anemone.

@@zeloz6129 Drawing Fountain is the exception, not the rule and either way your combo is far from "dead", you can just normal summon Mirror and make Herald and Lancea pass which also plays into nibiru unlike revealer. Also hexa is not vulnerable to disruption as long as spright sprind remains in the game. If you don't use or can't use runick bodies in a meaningful way, whats the point of even playing runick? You are playing a worse version of pure then.

@@zeloz6129 Mirror lock happens late in the combo when it doesn’t really matter. You can chain runicks to Revealer’s effect, but it’s irrelevant since you can only summon one Runick, meaning you can’t draw with Fountain during your turn (unless you open specifically Slumber or Tip). Hexa and Diva do the same as Revealer without the lock while giving you Herald early so your end board isn’t just a Nibiru token. It’s hard to justify using Revealer when you have better options without any of its downsides. Being called a keyboard warrior over a discussion about a children's card game was not something I expected lol.

Ive been building ice barriers! I was stoked to see them get some support. I always thought they were a cool archetype but just so unplayable until now. The main letdown is just that a lot of turn 1 boards lose to an imperm if you've committed everything to the Level 10

@@tomdavies2279 Youre better off not running Revealer because if she gets handtrapped you are super vulnerable. Firstly she hard locks the hell out of you from any plays. Secondly your best normal summons are either Hexa, or Mirror. Hexa being handtrapped allows you to summon a slepnir and go into a Level 10 Synchro. Mirror normal, you can go into Almiraj and search. Add reborn, summon. Tribute almiraj. Coral-Dragite. These scenarios are if you brick or get handtrapped. Tuners are always better to have on field so you can synchro, Revealer doesnt provide that. If you really plan to run revealer, youre better off just going deepsea diva to tutor out hexa without locking yourself

Revealer is only a problem for the runick side; there are plenty of water support cards letting you cheat her out without using normal summon, and since the discard is a cost you can pitch Ice Barrier or Mirror Mage off her for searches (or Speaker for token, or to a lesser extent Revealer or Zuijin for future effects) even without relying on her effect getting through. Plus, between Freezing Chains, Georgius, and Coral Anemone, it's pretty easy to have a discard you get back later (effectively nullifying the cost). I mean are we going to be upset that Revealer locks us into water and be fine that Mirror Mage locks us into Water Synchro? Or that if Mirror Mage gets negated you're out a monster for no tokens?

The problem with revealer is that it locks into water early in your combo so you can't use more than one runick for bodies. Also, if it gets ashed, you can't follow up with hugin + spright sprind to continue the combo because of the lock.

The extra deck might be too tight for it, but you could try out Dewloren to keep recycling freezing chains to get a free revive every turn. (If you have 1 Prior in grave, you can also revive Dewloren back, since summon Prior -> tribute Prior let’s you ignore the lvl restriction on freezing chain and Georgeus.)

The one nit pick I have with this is the revealer. It's not a dead card. It's the main normal, can sp summon other ice barriers around it, as well as get out georgious and mirror. It also gets you into links and rank 4s before you lock yourself with mirror mage

IMO it depends. The level 6 offers awesome payoff from the crocodragon line which only needs a Speaker in grave and a Mirror Mage (with one tribute fodder) on board for the draw 4 which is an awesome thing to have in the grind game

I play pure in the TCG. It’s definitely not top tier but it is surprisingly more consistent than most give it credit for. The draw 4 combo and Lancea really make the deck shine. I also run 3 Aegirine Ran to help summon Lancea or Gymir Aegirine as well

I've played a lot of the deck on Master Duel on the new event so take what i say with a block of salt but i think the main problem of the deck is that its really weak to disruption, especially on the normal summon. If you destroy Revealer or Mirror Mage it becomes really hard to do follow up plays since so much of the deck relies on having a Ice Barrier on the field and outside of your normal summon there isn't a lot of really easy ways to get one there. With that said , you can probably supplement it with some other cards and if you get your combo uninterrupted you can make some absolutely crazy end boards.

Deep sea diva is a better starter and nibiru proof combo. Summon Hugin, normal Diva eff special Hexa, Hexa eff send Mirror Mage, Mirror Mage eff add georgius/freezing chains, summon herald with Hugin and Diva on 4th summon and continue combo'ing. Also, it takes less space in your extra deck, which is very tight.

You running this deck makes me regret a bit building Voiceless Voice. I could have most of the Ice Barrier package already if it wasn't those 13-15 UR crafts (granted, I only pulled 1 Mirror, if I had pulled 2 I might not have dusted and Ice Barrier card), plus it looks funnier and more challenging to play it.
