One of the reasons I love Home Free, is because they are not afraid to be goofy, but then when it's a subject they believe in, they can produce something like this that is so heartfelt and beautiful.

So hauntingly beautiful. Love Tim’s lows and he and Chance looked ghost like in the windows. Loved the echoes. One of my favorites of theirs. Yes, laugh or cry the music never suffers with these men. 😪🥲

Absolutely flawless performance. This arrangement was created by the Finnish group Club for Five who graciously allowed HF to use it. Their original version is quite different, because it includes both male and female voices and instruments. And the original from Dire Straits is so totally different that when I went to listen to it I thought I'd clicked on the wrong video. Both are worth a visit.

Excellent reaction! And thank you for your service to all the veterans and serving military and their families. Home Free did a hauntingly beautiful version of this song. If you guys enjoyed this message, please give Home Free's cover of Everybody Walkin this land a listen. And play all the way through the message at the end of the song (Tim speaking). Thank you for your reaction. Stay safe and healthy and have a blessed day!

This is in my top 5 of Home Free. It reminds me why as much as I love Voice Play, Home Free pulled me in first. You should try Everyone walking this land... it's another serious song. They also did a stunning rendition of "My County 'tis of Thee" And yeah, the world seems to have forgotten that you can not agree with everything and still respect and care for each other. Thank you to all our veterans and everyone that runs towards the danger instead of away.

What’s striking about “Brothers In Arms” is just how much songwriter Mark Knopfler manages to convey in a minimum of words. With startling efficiency, he inhabits the soul of a wounded soldier who muses on his surroundings and waxes philosophical as his life ebbs out. It seems likely that Knopfler had the Falklands War, which took place in 1982 between the United Kingdom and Argentina, in mind when he wrote the song. But by keeping specifics out of the narrative, he makes the song a timeless treatise on the senselessness of war.

Knopfler's brother served in the Falklands War, and this was a tribute to him. The arrangement was from a group in Scandinavia.

Tim and Chance silhouettes against the window are deliberately ghostly, a soldier’s fading spirit… also reminiscent of the POW-MIA remembrance flag. For me, after Chance’s verse when the harmonies go all over the place, it echoes the chaos of the battlefield. Masterfully done by Home Free, and a great reaction from you all. Thank you.

I didn't think I'd ever see all four of you speechless. The presentation was beautiful. The messages were NOT subtle - why DO we wage war on each other? And I think it was a very good tribute for Veteran's Day. If you watch Everybody Walking the Land and watch clear to the end, you will see Tim giving the exact sentiment of we're all more similar than different. It is something that HF lives by.

Good, appropriate, somber reaction. HF released this video just before Veterans Day 2 yrs ago, and is a masterpiece by them. Mark Knopler of Dire Straits wrote this song in response to the Falkland War between UK and Argentina. Veterans Day, Armistice Day, Remembrance Day... "On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, we will remember them." For a war to end all wars. (The Great War, now known as World War 1.) "We're fools to make war with our brothers in arms." (Mark Knopler)

I believe the meaning of brotherhood defined in these lyrics goes beyond the borders of any one country,, culture or belief, but extends to all players in all wars. True brotherhood is global. Home Free's choices seem to support this, and they know when to put aside the jokes and find joy in the simple things that all humankind share. Thank you for your reverence for this performance; it is masterful.

This song was written by Mark Kopfler of Dire Straits, and tells the story of a dying British soldier during the Falklands War. 99% of the time when Adam is harmonizing or even has a small solo like in How Great Thou Art he stands almost motionless (almost as if he doesn't want to draw attention to himself). Now when he's beat boxing he can't seem to stand still even if it's just his hand that's moving. Even though I really like HF's version this is not a song I would listen to all the time and it never was. Great reaction guys.

I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. (Although I have to be honest I think Dire Straits guitar playing is phenomenal) Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. And the whole setting of the video is just amazing. Simple but with so many details that makes it so profound

My family has a long rich history in the American military. Several cousins retired after long careers. One cousin retired from the Navy and then joined the Air Force. My dad retired, after over 20 years in the Army, the taught as a civilian instructor for another 11 years. This is for them. How haunting is the bass line? You have to appreciate how hard it must have been for Tim to sing his bass lines softly. Think about the message. The location appears to be a stark empty warehouse/factory for impact.

In Canada, Nov. 11 is Remembrance Day (if you've never read the poem "In Flanders Field", it's always prominent today, and wearing poppies is standard). This song is so hauntingly sad & evocative - no beatboxing, just amazing harmonies and singing. Incidentally Tim, Austin & friends do fund raising for at-risk veterans (excerpts of some of these are available on y/t).

Thank you for being reverent and respectful! I have many family members, immediate and not, who fought and died for our country: my uncle who flew B29's for the Army in WW2 and my cousin who flew PBY's for the Air Force in Korea! Thank you to you and yours and those you knew who served! "We're fools to make war with our brothers in arms!" I appreciate all of you for not going nuts when Tim Foust was hitting those low notes! You recognized the lyrics which were more important! Reverent and respectful to those who have fallen or are still with us! Thank you!

This song is all the more poignant as we face the possibility of entering any number of conflicts around the world. I think it sends a strong message of the futility of sending our sons (mine included) and daughters to fight and die when, in an alter universe, all we have to do is say no more and then go home.

One of the defining characteristics of military service is that even those who fought one another find more kinship than they have with those who haven't serviced. "Brothers in Arms" resonates that the kinship. I recommend "Brothers" for another look at those relationships. The video is beyond funny & ridiculous, but the vocals are incredible.
