Hello Sir! Shubho bijaya! Could you please help me with something? May l know the delicate difference between *lt was* and *lt happened to be*?
@TheEnglishNut
@TheEnglishNut Жыл бұрын
When you say 'it happened to be' you are implying that it is something that happened by chance or coincidence. 'There happened to be a medical store nearby, so I was able to buy the medicine.'

Some pronounce 'columnist' with the 'n' silent. It is because of the way 'column' is pronounced. Is it correct to do so? Similar is the case with 'condemnation'. However, I haven't heard anyone pronouncing it with silent 'n' but I think it can be done if the former can be done. In this video you pronounced the 'n' too.

I've always heard columnist being pronounced with a distinct n. Maybe some people say it with the n silent but that would be rarer I guess.
