In all honesty, any large or largish dog can be dangerous. It can hurt kids even without meaning to just be contact while moving, and if it really wants to hurt? Cats are the worst, you never know when they will decide to signal no more petting by scratching. Intelligent predators - well at least you can reason with them... Good story :)

of course one also have to take into account if its a predator pet that hade a 'rough' growing up itself or not as in general if its 'healthy' and a normal mental state most of them are naturally gentle with the big ones cubs , and even when saying ''no fk this i am no nanny!'' restrains themselfs , classic is for example big dogs calling for the owner as the kid is bothering or worse , and a cat giving sharp glares but responds to the tail pulling by secluding itself on the top shelf , or requesting to go out aka showing the fellow 'adults of the pack' where their personal space boundaries goes ,though its true there are the horror stories to where unknown trauma in cats or dogs upbringing or impossible to see beforehand genetic/hormon psychosis shows up causing them to react far stronger then is needed :/ just wish more people that not where pet owners themselfs where intelligent enough to reflect a moment just as with other humans reactions having a spectrum of ''expected from average individual'' to '' x cognitive disability or physical one ,will act out far stronger , cant do x or y '', same goes for all intelligent pets , specially the ones with self awereness aka most of them after all few people have slime mold as a 'pet' XD
@Dmaster2kАй бұрын
Cats usually get bitey and clawey when they are played with rough when they are younger (not violently). Making a cat tell you to 'stop' by making them claw or bite your hand makes them think that's the only way to get anyone to stop. Cats handled gently and allowed to leave when they want will reduce their need/want to use biting and clawing to get their point across. In stressful times they will resort to biting and clawing, like when they are scared or in pain, but normal contact should be less bite and more butt hole showing as they walk away if they want to leave. XD

Certain questions and phrases poke the universe, few are those with the necessary karma to escape unharmed. Examples include watch this, what now, what else/what could go wrong, hopefully it stays quiet, calm, safe etc. Also my new favorite animal observation, " I bet that could be friend shaped with enough treats and patience."
@generalagondrayАй бұрын
As someone that deals with animals that most people say hell no and hit the nope button to get away as far as possible from, yes this is humans. Anything with remote chance of some form of sentient ability we go hey i bet if i treat it well enough, care for it, and give it snacks itll be a friend. Ive picked up random snakes people ran from having learned about snakes from a breeder that lived down the road from me when i was a child. My neighbors were fishermen who often ended up catching turtles and gave me them to take to the canal. I live in africa now and locals run from a gecko thinking they are dangerous while i catch them and hold them as they freak out about it needing to be killed. So yeah anything with a remote intelligence to identify someone as friend, well definably become a friend shaped thing.

do you mean the african fat tailed gecko? why would anyone be scared of those precious babies?😂😅 theyre entirely harmless to humans, kinda clueless, and absolutely adorable.

We can handle predatory cubs because our own cubs are predators. While we may be omnivores, a lot of our intelligence comes from the predatory side of the equation, and that's also where we got our ability to have empathy for other species. Killing a mother with young to care for is bad, because those young won't survive long enough to be worth predation. It's a very simple explanation for the need to develop empathy as an intelligent predator. All intelligent life will be predators, and the ones we can actually trust will be predators, because surviving on predation is how cooperative behavior actually develops. Prey will always remain behind in development, because they survive on plants, and tend to have massive litters. Intelligence and large litters do not go hand-in-hand, they're actually polar opposites.
@05bastille24 күн бұрын
Animal younglings are made to look with big heads and eyes in order for predators (or their own parents) dont eat them, it awakens a side of our brain that is links to emotion and pleasure, which is why we developed the “cute” factor. Well, as always us Humans took it too far and the definition of “cute” became very wide and, well, hard to define… which is while you’ll hear a person shriek “so cuuuuute!” At both a little, fluffy kitten as well as a big slippery snake. Forget music, speech, self awareness and all that crap, what really differentiates us from animals is our ability to cute-ify every living organism, even against all instincts of self preservation.
