But it's different when you're an actor in Hollywood action films and directors are looking for masculine people (which he is) and have a stereotypical view on gay men being too flamboyant. Publicists will do anything to "protect" their clientele. It's disappointing but that's just the truth about Hollywood. And you're probably wondering why he doesn't just find other roles but it really isn't that easy being gay in Hollywood. You might use Neil Patrick Harris or Ian mckellen as an example of openly gay men in Hollywood, but I don't think Luke has yet to hit that point in his career where roles are just offered and handed to him all the time.

Melanie Almeida yeah, you mention an excellent point. I do think that stereotypes are broken when we defeat them. If Luke acknowledged he was gay and talked about it more, the stereotype that gay men are flamboyant and not masculine would be destroyed since Luke single-handedly destroys both those stereotypes. That's why I like Luke so much because Luke would be destroying stereotypes if he were open about his orientation. I do understand your perspective that Luke probably wants to be careful because Hollywood and society is still homophobic. I understand, and you make a great point. Thank you for the conversation :-)
