Lets call it what it is. It's not about dying because life already decided that Brittany had to die, so she did not choose death over life, she chose to not suffer at the end for months at a time. And she spared her family watching her pain. Rest in Peace

Yes, let's call it what it is...which is Suicide!!!
@sds6303
@sds6303 2 жыл бұрын
@@nm1raider758 If you think that's suicide, then you don't know what suicide actually is. Clearly she didn't want to die. She was terminally ill, there's no question about it. She was going to die anyway. So you're saying that she should continue "living" with this brain cancer, which is excruciatingly painful, she was deteriorating everyday & suffering immensely. Why on earth would you want that for her or anyone? You wanted her to live & suffer so other people could have more time with her despite her illness? She was unfortunately going to die anyway. Like seriously how could you even say that? You have no empathy or compassion.

NM1Raider 75 NM1Raider 75 Suicide is when you choose to die. Sge didn't choose to die. That choice was taken from her. She was already dying. She just chose HOW she was going to die. She didn't have the choice to live or to die like someone suicidal would. She didn't have the choice to live. She was already dying. She simply chose HOW she would die. She said "I'm not going to die in the way that it has been described to me that stage 4 terminal brain cancer would take me." Which would have been in agony, in pain, suffering, maybe not able to speak to say goodbye to the people she loved, maybe not even able to open her eyes to ne able to see her loved ones one last time....... she chose, instead, to go peacefully. Knowing she can say "I love you" one last time to the people she loves and see them there. When somebody's choice to live has been taken from them and they're told they ARE going to die whether they like it or not, it is not suicide in any way, shape or form! Suicide is choosing to die, which she did not. If she COULD HAVE lived, she would have!!!! Unfortunately, she didn't have the option to choose to live. If someone told you "Hey, you're dying tomorrow. No if's, and's or but's! You're dying whether you like it or not! But, you have two choices! You can go in agonizing pain, seizing, vomiting, unable to speak or talk to your loved ones, begging for one more second so that you could say "I love you" OR you can go in peace, comfortable in bed, not in agony, with your favorite music playing, surrounded by those who are most important to you, telling each one individually what they mean to you and how much you love them, with all of your dignity".......... which one would you choose????

That's one of the sorriest, oldest, and most worn-out arguments that people use against the existence of God. It doesn't provoke any thought, except for those who aren't used to thinking. It is based upon a faulty assumption, namely, that if God existed, He would do exactly as that particular person thinks He would.

And still her death was a horrendous, exquisitely painful 4 months. I firmly believe that if she had had any way to control her existence she would have chosen medically induced death before all of her dignity was taken from her.

I will never, ever understand how the same people that tell you that you did the most humane thing possible for a dog who is diagnosed with terminal cancer, or is just losing their quality of life due to age but they want to deny that to people. It’s more humane to watch a person lose their quality of life? And waste away to skin and bone because their body can’t function normally anymore? I don’t buy it. And I think someone facing the fact that they are dying should be able to chose to do that with dignity.

And because of his loss, I was able to let go of the things that caused me the most pain. Because I realized what was the most important in my life. He visits me in my dreams, I wake up crying talking in my sleep, telling him how much I love him and miss him and can’t wait to see him again. Strange that there are places happy to put murderers to sleep but they won’t help the terminally ill die should they wish to choose to end their lives. We don’t let sick animals suffer any more than they need to, if we did we’d be considered cruel. I realise there’s an issue that sick people might feel pressured into choosing to die because they feel like a burden, possibly even a financial burden but there must be a way to make sure this doesn’t happen. At the end of the day, surely it has to be the individuals choice. Brittany was very brave.

Not only is it less suffering for her but her loved ones as well. They will not be haunted by visions of her suffering in her final days. People need to mind their own business!!!!! If it doesn’t hurt anyone else and is best for the person and their family then keep your nose out of it!!! So, its ok to rip a fully developed baby from his, or her mothers womb, once the "procedure" is done? The LIFE-ENDING "procedure?" What choice did THAT child have? But its not ok for a suffering women to make the decision to end her own pain and go with dignity? Sparing her family from watching her suffer? I'll never understand that! Who ever that judge was, he's a total hypocrite! We keep suffering people alive for OURSELVES not for them! How selfish is that?

@Eric Ryan I think you are the one who has issues here. What Kimberly says is totally legitimate concern and logical. However the way she worded her idea can be improved.

@@susanyeadon6657 So, in essence what your saying, is that you ok with partial and same day delivery abortions. Or your just drinking or drugging and you'll forget about it tomorrow. It's been 2 years since I wrote this. Why R people responding to it now? I didn't think they even left comments on that long. What does Fox news have 2 do with anything. I rarely watch them anymore.

Choices #1 Death With Dignity! Her Husband Is Very Strong To Speak On TV Even Though He's Fighting To Hold Back The Tears. Dan Diaz Thank You For Taking A Stand! Brittany Took A Step For Herself, But Also Her Family With The Struggles Of Dying Slowly. Her Family Was Already Seeing Her Struggling. Death Is Hard But She Didn't Want Her Family To Watch Her Die In Pain. My Sister Has Stage Four Cancer. It's Hard To Stand Beside Her Without Crying. Telling Her She's Going To Be OK. In the past two months she's lost all of her hair. She is hurting so bad on the inside. Here's the kicker I have Cancer too. If my sister dies before me I want to go also. I'm having a hard time not crying when I'm with my sister...

What’s the difference between this and a DNR? That is giving the person the right for them to make the decision to “end their life” on their own terms. There are people who could live if they were given cpr or whatever other life saving measures are needed but if they have a DNR nobody can do anything to save them, so they are basically killing themselves on their own terms. I believe this should be a persons choice, I also know someone who killed themself because of their diagnosis. It ripped their family apart because they were alone and suffering with this illness. If they had, had this option I strongly believe they would have had a better ending to their life.

I watched both my parents suffer and die from cancer. I wish they passed the law here in Maryland! MY dad had it the worst, at some point his kidneys failed and he got weaker so the chemotherapy was stopped! It was horrible to see! 😢

My sister died from the same disease. Her symptoms were controlled by heavy medication but she couldn't communicate for about 5 months and was in a coma for at least 2 weeks. It was an honor taking care of her. This wasn't available to her.

I don’t necessarily agree that we should take life into our own hands, however, in a case like this I certainly can see the reason someone would desire to do so and that it should be up to the patient to decide if death was inevitable. What I don’t understand is how a judge in CA can rule it as unconstitutional but it’s legal in OR and a couple other states. It’s all the same country under one constitution. It can’t be unconstitutional in one state and not the other. Either it is or it isn’t.

I also agree it's not a sin what is a sin is courts making decisions for people that are going to suffer tremendously i know my mom passed away from Pancreatic cancer I was with my mom till the end and seeing someone you love in pain and suffering daily is so painful for all involved you feel useless because you wish so bad that your love one wouldn't suffer people should have the right it's your life and suffering due to a terminal illness shouldn't be pushed anyone's throat I understand because I lived through this nightmare most people that disagree I can almost warranty they haven't been through something so horrible

I’m all for the DWD! Only thing that bothered me when I watched the documentary was how upset Britany was about her looks. How much weight she had gained from the prednisone which I get cause I have to take it as well and I packed on 80lbs and nothing takes the weight off. But she really struggled with how she looked. Idk for me if I knew I was going to die in 6 months or less that would be my last worry. But we are all different.
