There is a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding of what is exactly a “lie” detector and what it does. For starters no machine exists that can detect when a person is lying. The inventor of the machine intended it to detect stress which can be an indicator of a lie but the lie itself is not detectable, only stress can be measured. This is why they can be defeated and are NOT admissible into court. They do make for great plot devices in stories but not in court.

But I do admit, Nicole Eggert was my childhood crush, I thought the girl was a goddess walking the earth. but it sure doesn't look like she is telling the truth. Yeah, I want to believe her because I had a huge crush on Nicole Eggery when I was a kid and saw Charles in Charge. But what little I had read (just found out about this today) does have conflicting stories, some could be equated to memory of that long ago being fuzzy, but that would not explain all of it. The only thing that has me wondering is she has 2 people backing up he at least was inapropriately touchy feeling with her on the set, and even if she was "ok with it" she was 14... that is him manipulating her if that happened. Technically three people backing her given the radio interviewer. It does seem weird they would all lie for her, which is the only thing that gives me pause Baio might not be completely innocent. But I did notice her stories didn't always add up, and apparently the DA didn't think they had enough to move forward. So definitely not out of the question she was lying.

When you're sexually abused your reality falls apart. The person who abuses you is usually a person of trust (a family member, a loved one), or someone you respect a lot and that has earned your trust. To be honest, a judge not believing you is not 100% evidence she lied. So that means she was not a minor if it happened "way after" they were done shooting. When Megyn asked her about that from 7:40 - 7:54 Nicole said "Correct" and "Right, right". That she WAS indeed 18. Then changed the subject at 7:55 and said "But, MY truth is that..." Her truth doesn't matter. What matters are the facts because someone's reputation is at stake.
