Walking can clear your mind. It is the perfect “me” time. Hope you keep walking. Even 15 minutes a day is better than nothing.

I lost like 50 pounds on my own. I think this woman's story is inspiring. If she can lose weight anyone can. I was proud of myself because I lost my weight on my own through going meatless. I mostly eat fish and seafood. I went to the doctor for my annual physical exam and she said the bloodwork is fine too. I have a caring woman doctor. I am glad to be one of her patient's. I feel confident in my ability to do things.

Keep it up, what an inspiring story. My BFFs and I have been walking for 30 years. We walk for an hour around our development. Walking together has helped us physically but more importantly mentally.

Look at Dr. John McDougal's free weight loss program. Chef AJ explains about caloric density in her KZbin video. I can eat until I'm full, my health is better, my prediabetes is gone. 2 months and 25 pounds gone. Most importantly ALL my cravings are gone and I feel great. PCRM has a free 21 day kickstart. The first week was hard but now I am free from food addiction. And it didn't cost me a penny! All those years of paying for diets, etc. and the solution was freely available. I hope you check it out because my life is transformed.

Weight loss should not be the only motivating reason for walking. As she experienced, it’s a great tool to reduce anxiety, stress and create positive thoughts.

Such a great interview! So nice to see someone on a positive health journey and not only focused on weight or waiting until she’s skinny to talk with her.

Go, Christie! Walking is the cheapest and easiest exercise. I walk daily, outdoors. All you need is a good pair of sturdy athletic shoes, and a place to walk. You don't even need special clothes, just something weather appropriate. I began exercise walking in my neighborhood after my second and last child was a toddler, about 18 years ago. I used to walk for speed and to time myself. Now I am 18 years older and I don't walk for speed but simply walk for aerobic benefits. I am a tad slower, I can tell, but if I miss a daily walk, things don't feel right.

I lost 90 pounds in 2017 and have kept it off for 5 years. I love walking. But its my diet of no sugar no flour, weighing my food, and avoiding carbs (including fruit) that has kept my weight down.

I started walking on 1. May 2020. Ever since then I have been doing over 10,000 steps every single day, on average over 12,300 every single day, but never less than 10,000, even on my laziest days. You can also walk in your house or garden

Reduced depression and anxiety. That is Sooo true. I don't care how depressed you are or how much anxiety of any kind that you have I guarantee you if you walk consistently almost every day or every day for at least an hour depression and anxiety will definitely go away.

I noticed after moving to a flat city like NYC after spending my whole life in hilly SF, how much that has negatively impacted my health. I’m so out of breath to the point I want to pass out. I too went though a dark period and didn’t take care of myself. I’m trying to do better. It’s motivating to hear other peoples journeys

While this neuromuscular disease was still be diagnosed I was told to do all sorts of exercises with resistance bands, get down on floor (getting up was impossible), was told to do pool therapy late in evening 40 mi away but was so weak, so fatigued that just going for the initial class I couldn't take dogs out without falling, couldn't do dishes or prepare meals. MD told me get rid of dogs, go to assisted living for therapy. I started taking mestinon and had immediate improvement, big dog is very sensitive to when I need this med or to lay down, medium dog is a hairy wart on my foot or companion trying to tend garden. When I started this med I could walk 3 houses down and back then rest 20 min and repeat with other dog. These are dogs who love activity but took care of me. Today I walked 8 houses and 10 houses... still won't risk walking around the block as sometimes the exhaustion hits like a tsunami. So glad I didn't listen to MD, since starting the med have also lost 35 lbs, improved breathing by 10% and no longer feel crushed by disease that took ability to work, cross country ski, hike, bike or do storytelling, exploring museums. It was the patient persistence of 2 rescue dogs to turn things around step by step

Even though I was still technically plus size I used to walk a long way around a big hospital at 5am 3 to 5days a wk. Then I had Covid was in intensive care, was told I was gonna die by the doctors, I didn’t agree and had to fight to live. Came out became more plus size- had to relearn to walk again, been taking ubers in and off again almost everywhere since. it’s taken me 2yrs to get back out there! I woke up today on a v blustery stormy December morning- I just walked around the steep hills I live on, not super dupa far like I used to but challenging and did it! Fatphobia kills Don’t listen to it, grey rock them Wake up Headphones optional Drag on any clothes you feel comfy in I always carry a rucksack, helps me balance Then go ❤ as she says let the inspiration come later x

Walking is good for over all health and weight loss, but you have to jog or stair climbed to get your heart rate up especially if you weigh under 200 pounds because the less you weigh the harder it is to lose weight

She might be taking a med that makes her gain weight, not sleeping well or has a lot of stress. Please be kind. The year my son was in a horrible car accident, I gained weight. It was not because I consumed more food. I barely ate, had a lot of stress (son in a coma - close to death through a year) and never slept. You don't know her life. Please have good wishes for her.
