I’m petite and started working overnight and gained 20 pounds since my job is a computer job. just started back walking and it feels amazing. I walked 3 days per week. 3-4 miles per each day. Well the more I walk when it time to go I always end up doing two or three more laps. It’s such a good feeling u can’t stop. Going to start listening to music during my walks but I love hearing nature the birds see the butterfly’s. It’s amazing. I also walked a lot after giving birth years ago. Also noticed my dreams are very clear and if I set an alarm my body automatically wakes up a minute before the alarm goes off. Crazy how my body knows what time it is while I sleep. Mood is very light and happy 😊 proud of myself

This is a great video. I’m a runner, still, sort of, actually not really anymore. I’ve had to cut way back on running because of knee, hip and ankle pain. I thought running was necessary for weight management and by walking instead I’d gain weight. But that hasn’t happened. If anything the reverse has happened. I find I am much less hungry when I walk vs run. Even if I walk the same distance as I’d typically run. I also sleep better. I think running is very stressful on the body. And if your someone with anxiety issues and a lot of stress already (like me) running probably isn’t the best idea. Walking is just relaxing.
@mic8026
@mic8026 Жыл бұрын
I have found the same...enjoyed running all my life..5k, 20k, and marathon. I recently had a lower back injury and have had to start walking... I find walking way less stressful on the body...less impact and I also don't crave the same foods after a walk as I would with a run. Walking is more relaxing and I can listen to a podcast. Also easier mentally to walk every day than run every day. Walking will be my new exercise

Walking makes part of my daily routine over last years . I use to walk 7 Km / day on average . But for me walking is only fun if i use my ear buds and listening to my favourites music tracks while i am walking . I have around 120 mp3 songs on my Smartphone. My Smartphone with my earbuds are essential while i am walking. Walking everyday was the best thing that happenned to myself over the last years.

I gave up my car 12 years ago & walk miles everyday. I have young kiddies who walk everywhere & you really see the benefits of using their energy walking in the fresh air compared to their peers who are stuck traveling in cars all the time ( usually hyper active & destructive behaviours). We, as a family love & enjoy walking.

Correction there is a difference between walking outside and inside, indoors that us. All walking is good but outside we also get the benefit of light therapy from daylight and benefits from good fresh air ( more oxygen and negative ions) so outside is better though all exercise of any kind is a benefit there are added benefits from being outside ( treats, SAD, depression, insomnia, in the early morning, sets oir body clock).

I'm in a mich better mood if I walk my dog first thing in the morning. Love to hear the birds, see nature in the morning light, and breath the fresh air. It's a great time to get a Podcast in or spend time with my family. I at the age of 38 have hip that I need to be careful with so walking suits me best than a workout with a lot of kicking or high leg movements.

I'm just beginning to walk again for short bursts, post spinal surgery last year. I have an issue with one hip so it's walk sit, walk sit. I'm grateful I live by the sea. I actually cycle everywhere and cycling by the sea is my favourite thing to do most of the year. I do get off and walk a bit with my bike also. July 1st is my birthday. My hip is improving with the deep stretching I do daily. Getting there with the aid of my rebounder, water rower, step, weights, resistance bands as well as pilates and dance 😁

I like to walk for 6 miles, but I do not track step numbers. I also do about 50 pullups, 100 pushups, 100 squats, and some stretching. 70 years of age. Do not use regular drugs or any alcohol. Only eat meat and cruciferous vegetables. Be well. Enjoy your life. After your death you will live again In another body. Yes, reincarnation is a fact. Starts when you inhabit a conceived body. Remember, you are an eternal spirit. You do not have to "travel" from your dead body to your next body. It is as automatic as breathing.

Walking is great. Frees the mind , you absorb some infrared rays and vitamin D and move. I will also say that sprinting is very beneficial as well and will reduce visceral fat. Walking is easier of course and more peaceful and you wont pull a muscle. I would choose walking and then sprinting but not jogging esp.long distances. The long distances will wear you down. Sprinting is quick. I walk and then do quick sprints...then walk etc. Look up Dr Sean O'Mara on sprinting. He is the visceral fat MRI guy.

I do pilates reformer almost every day, 6-7 times a week. I love it. When studios (and schools) were closed because of the virus I started walking outside. My daughter had to report to her PE teacher she was doing at least 30 minutes of activity so we walked together for 30 minutes. To be honest I’ve never felt any benefits while walking daily, and that’s why I don’t do it. Not even when walking outside. We have a dog, I’m rarely the one to take her out on walks. When I walk her it’s merely because no else can that particular day and I know it’s important for her. But I don’t feel any benefit whatsoever, so I don’t stick to it. I wish I did.
