We need to see the particulars of his contract. If he is traded then cut would he get paid? I know the Rams had to fork out a ton over withholding money. The timing of this as well were guys betting on themselves. Bell holding out. Kirk Cousins constantly signing franchise tags. Also could be about money. A trade is over the current deal. If you are hurt and you get traded, then that team can void the trade over medical. If the Bills or Steelers did that then his next contract would be next to nothing. He got a $2 mil signing bonus and $5.5 mil guaranteed from Atlanta. He gets traded and hit with a voided trade he doesnt get that contract. If the Rams deal had an out clause on the guaranteed over a trade, then thats why he wanted to be cut. He wanted to be a FA. He said the words "cut me". Had nothing to do with not wanting to be a Steeler.

Waaaaait, how do you guys understand Gurley saying " F NO " to the Steelers dur to him being born and raised in BMORE, and was a Ravens fan. Gurley was simply too injury prone for us to even want to pick him up at that time.. regardless if he wanted to come here or not

He wasn’t a better talent and didn’t draw as much attention from the opposing DC throughout the week leading into the game but he was statistically more efficient-most importantly, Bell was past his prime after the Steelers ran his legs into the ground making Conner a better option at that point in their careers. It’s unfortunate that Randy was so quick to abandon the run…
