This is great advice. I had a 140lb guy kicked my butt arm wrestling. At first I was like "well I guess I'm not as strong as I used to be or maybe I was never strong to begin with", well It ate at me for 6 months, now for the last three months I have been doing something about it and I will be coming for seconds:) I never knew how awesome this sport is and how it reaches people across the globe for the chance to test oneself against another. I am much stronger just three months in and I owe it to people like Michael Todd, Todd Hutchens, and the rest of them that are willing to share! Good luck against Devon, can't wait to see that!

It was good seeing that Todd gets so scientific and analytical in his approach towards strength progression in arm wrestling. In order for me to have kept progressing as a powerlifter, a deep knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology and biomechanics (kinesiology) all came into play. Is your pulley system adjustable? Varying height of the pulley, can help you work through specific ranges of motion mimicking a more natural feel to an actual human. Unlike a human, the pulley doesn't get tired, doesn't complain and is always there 24/7 for you.

I've always thought armwrestling should take a thing or two from the powerlifting training methods, so I'm glad to see that Toddzilla has done exactly that and with great success. Powerlifters tend to have their programs down to a tee (like how many weeks out from a competition to test their 1 rep max before starting to deload) so I've always been a little surprised to see people like you and Devon play it more by ear, though I'm sure that works well too. I'd also love to see if Todd does anything specific for endurance, since endurance is more of a factor in armwrestling than it is in powerlifting.
