MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. Great info on how to fish grass. Get them to bite first, then figure out how to get them hooked, and in the boat. Excellent choice on the BBT mounts. I drive by their place every day to, and from, my work.

I don’t care what anyone says that’s the best rotation of baits to have the absolute most fun catching fish on. Even when they miss top water it will get you going every time!

Just curious… what are your thoughts/reasons for your very next cast after a HH miss? Same bait, same cast?, same bait, different color?, or different so called follow up bait: maybe top water, maybe wacky worm. In your video you seem to prefer to keep with the same bait and make a quick repeat cast. Maybe I watched too many TV fishing shows when I was younger. .

What are your thoughts on using darker colors on cloudy days and brighter colors on sunny days. Could have been why they were missing your baits. Just a thought

Ran into a situation on the Ohio river where I missed probably 30 fish and caught 5 all on a buzz bait but whenever I would pick up another bait I couldn't get a bite, pick the buzzer up and get a blow-up within a few cast. Talked to other guys at the ramp and they caught fish but it was slow.

What makes the hybrid hunter shallow run shallow. If you put it by a standard one the bills look the same. Also the shallow seems to have more action. Oh i have the juniors. I fish in ohio.

The bill looks a little shorter like 1/4 inch? Does the shallow have more action or does it blow out on you? Maybe I am fishing it too fast?

No the bill is not shorter, and mine doesn’t blow out. I wouldn’t keep the rod tip up at 12:00 but we did four prototypes till we got it where it won’t blow out. It’s the same bait just weighted different

99% guarantee it’s the clouds vs the sun. Seen it before on certain lakes where they eat better in the sun
