Nah, Nancy Pelosi running in 2024 is a great thing. It doesn’t take a genius to see that she wanted to retire years ago, yet due to her own machinations she is left with no successor and is forced to keep her seat. Nancy Pelosi will sit in Congress until the day she dies, and there is no more fitting punishment. We the people are screwed either way, at the very least we can have the consolation prize of knowing that the evil “people” in charge of our country will be forced to spend their last years lashed to the machine with no peaceful retirement.

While I agree wholeheartedly on the term limits, I don't for the retirement ages. - As medical science and technology advances (hopefully with the CDC gone given its numerous transgressions in the last three years alone), we should expect average lifespans to increase. - Age is not a gold standard for assessing performance capability. You could have someone who's sharp as a tack at 90, while you could also have someone like Biden who's been a bumbling idiot since 20. Cognitive tests would be a better way to determine who is eligible to continue, as well as Constitutional coherence. If you fail either of them, you're out.

I created the test in 1996 as a screening examination where we ask the patient several questions," Nasreddine told NBC News. "Each question is accessing a different part of the brain in terms of cognition.” It’s a test only given by doctors and not meant for the general public. “It has to be interpreted by a physician who has expertise in cognitive disorders and cognition,” Nasreddine said.A score of greater than 26 is considered normal while 18-25 is considered mild cognitive impairment, 10-17 is considered moderate cognitive impairment. There should be a two term limit for senators and congressmen, as well as the president, with a 65 year age limit at the beginning of their first term. That way they would be a maximum of 73 by the end of their second term. Without lifetime politicians clogging up the system, it will open up the field for new people with new ideas and a high turnover rate will prevent entrenched good ole boys networks from forming.

It's not ""we the people" so much as the leaders of political parties that choose to promote these individuals as their singular choice. It's messed up. We need a concerted effort with serious backing to promote a candidate that is willing to actually work for the benefit of America. This requires a colossal effort to overrule the elite in power. It's likely this person will have to be a write-in and it's even more likely that this person will not actually want to be president but that's exactly the leader we need.

I think Dr. Grande's analysis here is quite charitable towards Joe Biden. In the intro, the emphasis is on whether or not Joe Biden will be able to sustain a second term when it seems clear that most people believe he has been unable to sustain through his first term. It's not a matter of when his cognitive performance will reach a breaking point, it's a matter of acknowledging the fact that we have already exceeded this threshold.

Does everyone remember during Trump’s administration that the media and public demanded he take a cognitive test and physical and he did it and made it public. That shut them up…at least about that. Yet the same is not being done by the Biden administration…because they know he would fail it miserably. There are people in their 60’s that fail these tests and people in their 90’s that ace them. So age isn’t the issue. Why we don’t require annual cognitive tests of our leaders is ridiculous. Why? Trump did a lot of good for middle class Americans. Just look at the economy. If he wins, he'll fix it so we aren't all broke. Give him 3 months, guaranteed. He also ended ISIS in two weeks after 20 years in Afghanistan and didn't start a new international conflict. He'll end the conflict in Ukraine, too. His track record is nearly without blemish, if you filter out all of the state run propaganda that's being pushed by the people who are profiting off all of our misery.

lol what are you talking about…..Biden was born with a childhood stutter, he’s also an 80 year old man, I know 80 year old men in my life, and most of them act pretty similar to Biden, does that mean I think every old person I talk to is developing Parkinson’s disease or dementia? No, it’s called old age, a natural process of aging your body experiences as you get older. These are not the early signs of some debilitating disease you fool.

@@justnana13-klj40wishing you all the best. Biden has been a liar his whole career and has been doing all kinds of underhanded things to make himself richer. I’m sorry he literally put people in prison for life for drug offenses that he knew his own son was guilty of. Zero sympathy for him

I do too. I voted for Biden but am concerned for 2nd term. I believe Trump showed some signs of neurological illness also. Biden had so much experience so that made a better man to vote for. I felt so sad for Mitch McConnell recently. I just feel so sad for him and his clear struggles. Winston Churchill made some bad mistakes in the last years being Prime Minister. It is hard for many to accept their own aging experience. But the better thing to do is to be optimistic. There is beauty in elders. David Bowie was quoted as saying, ‘aging is an extraordinary process of becoming the person you always should’ve been.’ I think this is a wonderful thought.

I didn't know it had gotten that bad for him mentally. 😬 He was going up those stairs way too fast and needs to slow down. My 83 yo mom lost her balance and fell a few times within the past few years. She had a bad fall and broke her hip and arm in January, and her health went downhill from there. She passed away 3 months later, after having surgery to repair the hip, then a stroke after the surgery. Falling is a terrible hazard for the elderly.

My Mom has worked with many elderly people and she said a couple years ago that he was starting to talk like he was getting dementia. And it has only gotten much worse. Age is just a number, some folks are in their right mind into their 90s when their physical body is giving out. So I don't necessarily think people should vote on that as much has his very concerning cognitive abilities. To run a whole country, you should be required to take a cognitive test. That's crazy that no one enforces it and he refuses. And Kamala Harris isn't much better. She can't form normal/ typical sentence nor get straight to the point to save her life. 🤦🏼♀
