In order to get a job as a kennel attendant at a city run shelter, I had to- Pass a drug test. Pass a psychological evaluation. Pass a background check. Pass a lie detector test. Meet with the police cheif. Score high on a credit check. The president of the United States has to pass or score well on nothing. This needs to change.

I have ADHD, and I'm nothing like Trump at all. He has NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). Which means he has no empathy whatsoever, has no interest in anything that isn't advancing his agenda, and is incapable of apologizing or admitting fault. And given that narcissists can easily rationalize any behavior simply because it's what they want, his being on drugs isn't surprising at all.

My poor mother blamed herself for giving it to me, she would say I was a nurse I should have known. Never blamed anyone but myself and lived a hard life, but I'm now clean and life is damn good. He didn't get a proper diagnosis, though, and lost four years of school. He got back when he got his medication, and it took him 1,5 years to become a straight A student with college level courses, although he hasn't finished high school yet. I don't know many persons who could have achieved what he has. Although I and his father have tried to be supportive, this is completely on him. He's extremely smart and has an absolutely amazing tenacity and has no problem whatsoever to stay focused with the help of medicines. He's an honest, kind, social, and compassionate person. Through his gaming, he has gotten friends all over the world. I know that I'm his mom and, therefore, not the most credible person here. But I can tell you that his struggles have taught me a lot about ADHD. I wouldn't vote for Trump even though he was on medication, though, because he's a butt cavity (AH).

I have ADHD. I don't take any medications, I have learned to live with it. My work finds me focusing on highly complicated problems where I have found that my ADHD is of great benefit. My mind is always going, I think about a problem night and day, research it obsessively, and will usually come up with a novel solution. However, things outside my comfort zone and multitasking are a no go. I would not be a very good president, nor would I run. But I am a hell of an engineer.

As someone with ADHD here - spot-on regarding how Adderall is actually an asset that shouldn’t be stigmatized. Got diagnosed as an adult and it changed my life. I had also suspected for years that Trump had ADHD based on the way he carried himself, spoke in public, and rarely followed through on things. Also, we should be careful to not conflate his obvious ADHD with the things that actually disqualify him from office - bad ideas, authoritarian bent, narcissism, etc. …also snorting Adderall is not a legit way to take the medication

ADHD can be diagnosed by simple observation in public. the other disorders require testing, which is what Goldwater was getting at when he made his 'rule.' there is also the overarching danger of hypertension that ADHD medication can exacerbate.

As a former student of film, marketing, art I can tell you that's a very elementary propaganda technique that CNN camera work was extremely frenetic when Joe Biden spoke compared to when Trump spoke the camera was absolutely less frenetic. As young as 12 or so Trumps Father sent him to Military school, one where Donalds Uncle was head master. Fred wanted them to "fix" Donald because he was so out of control. He was returned in a few months with a note saying we can not "fix" this child. Fred then spent the rest of his life protecting Donalds public image because in Freds eyes Donald was not normal and he did not want him diagnosed with anything because having a mental illness was weakness in a person as far as Fred was concerned. I have severe ADHD. A full 4-hour psychiatric evaluation determined that. It wasn't fun, and I had trouble finishing it up, which played a factor in my diagnosis. However, I don't go on rants about whether I'd rather be eaten by a shark or fried by a fictitious electric boat battery. Trump could possibly have ADHD, but I don't buy the fact that's his only issue. I can be coherent, even without medication, but I don't slur my speech or run off on random BS like that. I truly believe he has some serious cognitive issues outside of age. It's not solely ADHD. That can be treated. Whatever the heck Trump has going on is serious. It has no place in the White House.
