I never did that again and he remained silent the rest of his life. He was a domestic rabbit but obviously not that domestic. 😂

The Coroner said his sister Sheila had no marks on her - then when the crime scene photos are finally released, we see he was clearly lying. Look at her right arm/wrist. She has deep gashes consistent with her being grabbed by another woman. But why would Sheila and June be fighting if Jeremy was holding the gun. A simple swab of June's fingernails would clear up if she was fighting with Sheila - sadly the whole family was cremated!

This reminds me of that case you did in Australia where the son killed the whole family, and that delusional, retired, rugby player somehow convinced a lot of people that the son was innocent. It also involved a [suicide] by rifle that had a silencer found in the house later. The killer was found NG in the appeal trial, the complete thing was a bad joke of a justice system.

It occurs to me you guys just swallow a police narrative. The original evidence and police logs show the police decided to frame Jeremy. Shows 2 calls were made to them, 1 by the father at 3:26am, and then again by his son at 3:36am, between which the father had called Jeremy. They destroyed evidence and the bullets and did no forensics. 3 guns were actually used, and no silencers were used at all. Why would Jeremy or a hitman leave a silencer in the gun cupboard as evidence? On entering the farm the Police were happy it was murder suicide, as Jeremy was outside with them when their Police logs show they were in communication with Sheila who was moving around the house at 3:45am. Also, these UK rifle bullets were low calibre, and are not lethal bullets unless shot in the head - hence why sheila shot many times.
@pcka12
@pcka12 Жыл бұрын
@@cookiemonster7514 .22 is quite lethal at short range, BUT in the UK at that time 'subsonic' cartridges were commonly sold to use with silencers because a 'supersonic' bullet makes a sharp crack once in flight rather destroying the point of using a silencer, so it is entirely likely that all silencers (& there were more than one) are a complete red herring because at close range firing the rifle would simply produce a 'thump' noise & not a 'crack'.

@alyb6166

My late husband worked for Essex Police, so I know a bit about this one. The silencer, that the police missed but the extended family found later, was covered in blood. The fact that the family's blood was on the silencer didn't crack the case but the fact that Shelia's was, proved she couldn't have shot herself. The police put the silencer on the end of the shotgun and forensics discovered that this made the shotgun far too long for Sheila to put it to her own head. She was quite tiny, if I remember, about 5'2" , and her arms just weren't long enough to fire the shotgun at herself. If she didn't kill herself, then she was murdered, along with her entire family. This forensic evidence, combined with Julie Mugford's testimony, and Jeremy's motivation and failure to account for his whereabouts, contributed to his conviction. It's generally regarded as an open and shut case, and the right man is in prison. Jeremy Bamber wrote to my husband frequently regarding his conviction, and when my husband found out he was dying, he said, "Thank God, I'll have never have to hear from Jeremy Bamber, ever again".

@@alyb6166 Researchers in America proved that she wasn't too small to have shot herself with the rifle and the silencer; that's been explained. In fact at the trial of Jeremy Bamber the defence was improperly denied evidence and he wasn't even convicted of ANYTHING forensic; the judge made it clear to the jury that they would have to accept either the personal testimony of Jeremy Bamber or Julie Mugford, and they chose Julie Mugford; the same Julie Mugford who was jilted, sold her story to the News of the World for tens of thousands then fled to Canada. Jeremy Bamber had no incentive to murder his family for money because he already had money and the assets he would have received; namely the businesses, were already part of his own income. His maternal grandmother was far more wealthy and would have given him the lion's share of her will; yet when he was convicted she struck him off and his cousins (who testified against him) ended up very wealthy people as a result. JB will probably die in jail because if he ever got a re-trial he would win hands down; in which case it will be a shock to the system for both the courts and the police; the biggest travesty of British justice since the hanging of Timothy Evans and allowing John Christie to slip through the net. JB shouldn't be in prison.

Yes the issue I have is the phone company has no record of the phone call from the farm. So if that is the case he's guilty. You have vast experience as a Doctor but here you surprise me with your view. Someone like Jeremy Bamber his personality , He gets off on it telling the girlfriend winding her up scaring her bringing his boy friend into the equation. ( He is in contempt with girlfriend doesn't really like women underestimates her thinks she too scared to say anything fear for own safety )see the overdoing the emotion thing at funeral then straight off to party of all places Amsterdam. Come on surely the personality of this individual coupled with lack of phone record makes him guilty. The sisters behaviour is very disturbing however the fact that Jeremy Bamber just happened to be shooting all afternoon with that gun and leaving it out loaded that is no coincidence. The window latch for years again that is no coincidence. The old man would not make a call to the son in the night while daughter was busy shooting everyone I the house.

I was on the fence for a while with case, but now I am completely convinced Bamber is guilty. Here are some reasons: > He told a friend he could murder his family by burning down the house. When confronted by this, Bamber simply dismissed the friend as lying but couldn't give any reason the friend might be lying. Bamber's response was simply "go ask him (why he would lie)". Not really a believable denial. > Bamber's ex GF corroborated this story, but said he decided against it because there was too much valuable stuff that'd get destroyed in the fire. I believe she corroborated this without knowing the friend had given the statement. > When accused of murder on the witness stand, Bamber responded to the prosecutor "that is for you to prove" - seriously, what kind of innocent person responds like that? > The main reason I think he's guilty, is that Jeremy Bamber comes off like a COMPLETE SOCIOPATH. Just reading about his personality, behaviour and the things he said and the callous way he acted, I have no doubt he belongs in prison. For example he spent his way through his inheritance after the murders and then attempted to sell nude/topless modelling photos of his dead sister to the press. > I also want to add that Grande is wrong - it can't have been a 3rd party, because Bamber rang the police to say his father rang him to say it was Sheila. Either A) Bamber is telling the truth about the call and Sheila must be the murderer, or B) Bamber is lying about the call and HE is the killer. A 3rd party can't really come out of that scenario. > Rot in prison, Jeremy. > /Rant over.

I have not read about the case, but it sounds like he had a very strong motive for committing the crime. That alone would make it hard for me to rule him out, it's like he would be rewarded dramatically for getting rid of the core of all his problems. There is a chance he was a strategist and thought there was no way he could lose in the situation. Fascinating case and very helpful explanation and analysis.

I lived in the County of Essex at that time & it was a massive, UK media story - especially shocking as gun crime was very unusual. I've no doubt Bamber is guilty, the way he tried to frame his step-sister was particularly cruel. She apparently committed suicide by shooting herself twice, having killed her two sons & adoptive parents. Bamber had actually broken into & robbed the family-owned caravan site (which he owned 8% of!) some weeks before the murders. He boasted of smuggling heroin, broke into a Jewellers' & stole two watches - he was not a good man. It was thought that his adoptive father had violently struggled with someone in the kitchen; his adopted daughter was too slight to have done this successfully - overcoming a 61-year old. There was also a belief that the father might have been killed upstairs, & dragged into the kitchen. Because the Police believed Bamber was a victim, they actually agreed to his request to burn carpets & bedding. Why would Bamber want that done?! Finally, 25 shots were fired. A silencer with the daughter's blood inside it was found in a cupboard. She hadn't shot herself twice, then put it there! Bamber obviously used the silencer so no-one would know what was happening as he shot the victims, then removed it when he set-up the 'suicide'. This was because he realised his sister couldn't have shot herself in the throat with it attached: her arms weren't long enough.
@eadweard.
@eadweard. Жыл бұрын
What's wrong with the idea she shot herself twice? Also, a silencer doesn't make a gun silent, or even a great deal quieter. You'd certainly hear a "silenced" gun being fired in your house.

Fascinating and insightful, as usual. There was a documentary on Channel 4 (if I remember correctly) recently, that questioned the safety of Mr Bamber's conviction. There were too many points raised to go into here, (Dr Grande has addressed many of them) but perhaps the most significant was that the programme makers claimed to have discovered a Police telephone log record of a call from Neville on the night in question, saying that his daughter had gone berserk and had got hold of a gun.

If your friend and his family haven’t reached out to his treating professionals, then I would encourage you to contact them and advise them of his non-compliance. A lot of people think they can’t do this due to HPPA. They are wrong. You can Talk to treating professionals and give them information. The professionals CANNOT give you information. Although it cannot be comprehensive given the volume of evidence, I found this gentleman's analysis most impressive indeed. He gets to the bottom line correctly in my opinion and does not rely upon emphasising any particular events which purport to be a 'smoking gun' , but looks at the whole of the evidence. There are dynamic inconsistencies on both sides but he doesn't concentrate on them or use them in an argumentative way. Given that it is not his discipline, he has weighed it up as well as an experienced and talented detective or lawyer. 10/10
