So much more difficult to do than to say… lest anyone think this is easy!!! Thanks for today’s reminder that we all struggle with this, Todd! The good news is that once you realize mindfulness is the way, there’s really no going back, no matter how much our fear-driven mind tries to take us there. 🙏🏾

Wow...where have you been all my life? Better late than never. Your words are shifting my outlook on my situation and I thank you. When I can pay it back I will. I took me 50 years to get to this excruciatingly painful life I am currently living. How long it will take me to undo all of the pain and suffering I have caused to others and myself I do not know. Today I begin. Namaste.

“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love, Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved, as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, for it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” -St. Francis of Assisi

When your negative story about your life is that you don't have roots and a safe place to put your bed and belongings, dealing with a tyrant of a landlord who never repairs anything and you never know when you will be evicted, that does not disappear effortlessly. When the world has gotten so there isn't any way to change that no matter how much you work, no amount of presence will correct that. Not having a home, roots makes everything else in life that much more difficult. At least for me.

debbietodd8547 🙏🌺 i don't know where you live ...there is a youtube channel "a gal with no plan" where an homeless girl in USA tells her story from sleeping in a homeless shelter to getting rid of her addiction, getting a job and a room in a low income apartment building ...(i remember her joy when she felt protected in her own room) ...and her life went on improving ... in USA there are many Centres of the Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma) charitable organization "embracing the world" where, perhaps, they could offer some help ... life is a very difficult journey and Faith in a Higher Power is a great help ...🙏🌺

Dear Todd. No coincidence l came upon your video and now l watch something different every day. I don't have to remind you how many thousands of people are being healed and helped through your wisdom and knowledge. At the moment l am supporting a 40 year old man going through chronic depression and learning from you is inabling me to give him some new directions in his life. Thank you so much as words are not enough to convey my total Gratitude.

I also viewed your video on the importance of teaching children about life from very young age. Your knowledge and experience will be so much appreciated if you lecture on schools on this subject and train some teachers to carry on the teachings. Probably you are already doing this.

I grew up in a household where both of my parents were oblivious narcissists who led me develop Complex PTSD and I only found out after 46-47 years on this crust. I'm sitting here alone struggling under the mental stresses of the Cost of Living crisis. Lately, EVERYTHING has been up and in my face and I'm at a crossroads in life, wondering what to do. I've been drinking for the last two years as I caught COVID and then it turned into long COVID and as a means to escape the mind fog and confusion, I started drinking just to feel some numbness. I can't carry on drinking but there only a few people I can call on to speak to and I dread getting up in the morning and sleep is what I live for as I don't have to engage with anything other than my troubling dreams. I'm lost and every tick of my clock is a tick closer to my death. Has anyone felt like this?

I feel your pain.... I also had the narsistic parants and was the escape goat. You are not alone. I use to escape as well, and am not finding ANY peace in that anymore. Reach out to someone and there is someone out there that will hear you. There is free counsoling and I wish you well my friend. Don't give up!

You can't let someone else's failures translate to excuses for your own. Everyone is suffering from inflation. Nobody had perfect parents. I'm terribly sorry yours failed you in such a crippling way but it's not a fair excuse to let alcoholism take over your reality.
