There is one other one. Toddrick with Mitch Scott and Kirsten and a full production of dancers. Called “Black and White”. The singing on it is simply insanely great. Highly recommend

You mentioned how natural Kristy is in her performance. Her musical goal from a young age was more musical theater than recording. A few years ago she was the female lead in the Broadway musical "Kinky Boots".

This was all put together by Todrick. He has always been a huge "Wizard of Oz" fan and even did an album of autobiographical songs called "Straight Outta Oz". He spent years coming up with pop songs that would fit into the "Wizard of Oz" plot. To fully appreciate this you need to be familiar with the original "Wizard of Oz" movie AND pop music from the last 20 years or so.

Toddrick Hall is from the same town and has attended the same school as Kirstin, Mitch and Scott, and is only a few years older. They knew each other through social theater and kept in touch when everyone started their journey into show business.
@mikegoodwin23862 жыл бұрын
I don't think they went to the same school - though that gets repeated a lot - but it was in the same city. They did know each other. There's even a video of Toddrick, Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin singing together in a coffee shop back before any of them were known.
@thechomiji2 жыл бұрын
@@mikegoodwin2386 , he was in the same school district, even. But no, I can't find any mention of his going to James Martin High School like The Trio. But they might have met through community theater.
@donny19602 жыл бұрын
Great reaction. Scott, Mitch and Kirstin all were Community Theater kids. In fact, that is where Scott and Mitch met. A production of Willie Wonka. So they are all very theatrical. In fact Kirstin has played on Broadway in "Kinky Boots". Thanks again for your time and effort. And you are both right..........Some people have an extra "gene" of talent. PTX and Todrick definitely.
@davidphillips44762 жыл бұрын
Todrick did a fantastic job putting this together, Kirstie was fantastic in this one. Just wonderful, when I see the original cast pop up above it made me emotional seeing them, early childhood instrument. You are right there, I ALWAYS forget ...no instruments. just that much talent.
@baskervillebee60972 жыл бұрын
I love this video! Hope that you recognized the Munchkins. Toddrick went to the same high school as Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch only different years.

So happy to see you react to this, great job as always. I feel like you, just amazing how we can forget that there are no instruments, only their amazing voices. Love seeing your beautiful smiling faces. Peace and love always.

They are re-enacting "The Wizard of Oz," the VERY famous in America 1939 movie starring Judy Garland as Dorothy using fragments of modern songs. Here, Todrick is the wizard, Kirstie is Dorothy, Kevin is Toto, Scott is Scarecrow, Mitch is the Tinman, and Avi is the Cowardly Lion.
@mjbartholomew53172 жыл бұрын
Toddrick Hall and Pentatonix turned the Wizard of Oz into an opera. Kirstin had one year of musical theater studies at the college level before competing with the guys on the Sing Off (season 3). Please go back to check out the munchkins. I don't believe you recognized Scott, Avi and Mitch.

Ahhh! my favorite couple reacting to The Wizard of Ahhhs. Love this video! Great reaction and looks like you both enjoyed it. Kevin played Toto Dorothy's little doggie. Some reactors don't catch that or when Kirstin says "Love your beard" in the wicked witch scene. She is theatrical for sure. Even to the point of her hand flourishes. All inc. Todrick are epically talented!

fun fact...that cup is not making the sounds...that is Kevin!!!! But yes...this is re-telling the Story of Wizard of Oz using modern songs!! Kirstin in this is just pure magic!!! It really shows how much more confident she has become in taking lead!! If u really watch near the end again when she is out front singing Scott looks at her with some much pride and love i get teary-eyed every single time!!! PLZZZZ check out their "Seasons of Love" it was a tv special and it is simply FANTASTIC!!! Stay safe and healthy!!

I hope you keep doing Pentatonix. Since you've been doing a lot of Stromae maybe you could react to Pentatonix's cover of "Papaoutai". There's a fun official video featuring Lindsay Stirling or there is a live performance on French TV. Other suggestions --- "Dreams" (Cranberries cover), "Happy Now" (their original), "Problem" (Arianna Grande).

Todrick went to high school with Mitch Kirstie and Scott. I think he was a year or two ahead of them. Todrick Hall is most known for his KZbin channel. He is a singer-songwriter producer dancer choreographs and so on and so on. He is also a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race. He is just so talented. Here is a link to a video starring Todrick Hall featuring Superfruit and Kirstie called Black and White. Todrick is Head Over Heels when it comes to The Wizard of Oz. There actually is a behind-the-scenes video for this. Many of todrick's videos have behind-the-scenes. I just discovered your reactions I am a huge PTX fan and a todrick Hall fan so this was great! I subscribed to I'm really into watching more of your reactions to PTX and todrick Hall. As mentioned in other comment black and white is a really good video. Todrick Hall is a side tunnel of the Pentatonix rabbit hole you will be amazed by this. He said her when referring to Todd recall, todrick wouldn't mind he does drag music videos also and if you watch some of the videos from his straight out of Oz concert you will see him in drag and he is excellent cameos are done by Bob the drag queen and RuPaul

I agree, their minds r wired differently! in this case Todrick, who made a name for himself making theatrical videos like this. I recommend Peter Perry - the story of Peter Pan to Katy Perry songs or his Greatest Showman mashup. Everything Pentatonix of course. I enjoyed you both enjoying the “show” - keep the reactions coming!

The songs represent each character. Scarecrow needs a brain, tin man needs a heart & lion needs courage. Y’all are adorable!!

Todrick used to be friends with Scott, but I believe they had a falling out. Todrick has quite the imagination but I hear he is difficult to work with. I do thank him for the content he did with PTX and Superfruit. The song he did with Superfruit and Kirstin is called Black & White and is worth a listen. It is a bop! Thank you for getting back to PTX!
@melissacoviello28862 жыл бұрын
While the condom challenge video he did with Superfruit isn’t PG so most channels wouldn’t the willing to react to it, it for me is one of the funniest videos I’ve ever watched.

He has at least one more Ox themed song, where he does do drag (why are those queens so pretty?) and has RuPaul as his guest. It is called "Low" and slightly more adult themed, but fantastic.
@blackkatt7772 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I prefer the original "LOW" version instead of the remade one with Rupaul. I love Rupaul, but just not that version. Plus, I really like the OG video to it. Did you know that Beyonce's top dancer, Ashley Everitt is in it?
