Depends on the jurisdiction. And, I sent this to an HVAC expert for comments and he did not flag it as a bad idea. Of course, you are welcome to bend coil stock into the appropriate shape.

Your supposed to use metal.Wood can cause mold to form.

You would need to use a toe kick vent kit.

Great idea for what we are faced with right now. Can I ask, did you use glue and/or screws to seal the front of the box and the inside of the cabinet?

I believe he used construction adhesive, but he may have just sealed it with caulk afterward. It would be best to seal all the joints tightly.

I've heard toe vents can cause rotten floors under cabinets if you live in humid areas or have a crawlspace

only if you have shitty insulation. but that's a symptom not the problem with toe kick vents. fix your house and toe kicks are fine

How difficult would it be to install toe kick registers after the fact? My cabinets and counter tops were installed on top of a vent, without any register.
