devils fan here. i would have liked to keep toffoli and maybe sign him to a 2-3 year deal as he was one of the only consistent pieces on the team. if he was out the door in the offseason then i understand the trade but seeing the return i think we got pretty hosed. seeing what the pens got for guentzel, granted he's a slightly better player they got like probably twice as much as the devils did

While i do agree that his game isnt there quite yet for the team, i feel like it was a unnecessary trade. The dude has similar makings of o'connor, being through college and maturing there, captaining a team to a championship (or was it runner up?) i feel like having him in the system would have been good, and he isnt horrendous when called upon so it he provides options. A little puzzling to me, but, its not like we drafted him, so its only a net gain by moving him.

Sharangovich was a 5th round pick that was buried by a bad coach. In a world where Lindy Ruff was the coach, the choice made sense (though you can certainly argue that he shouldn’t have been the coach). You think the Devils scouting team can’t find a player in the second round that has more potential than a buried player, even if they failed that player? Or turn that pick into a big part of a trade for a goalie in the off-season? This seems like a lazy take.

To be honest I believe this year is completely wide open. West has Dallas, Colorado, Winnipeg and Vegas who could easily win it all. East has Boston, Florida, New York, and Carolina who could easily win it all. Not to mention a bunch of sleeper teams who could get hot and make a run. Tampa, Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver and la if they get their shit together. Should be a really exciting playoffs. So many teams going all in and mortgaging the future. I’m glad Tampa didn’t heavily invest. Our defense is terrible and our bottom six is the weakest it’s ever been. Who knows if vasi can go god mode again.

Anything you need to know about Maroon can be found in the video of him fighting Luke Schenn last year. Quite honestly, Maroon might be a useful player from a physical standpoint, but I'd advise the Bruins to leave the fighting to Trent Frederic!

Actually, I love hockey but not into the fighting violence. I grew up with the 60s 70s 80s blood all over the ice and it became a turn off. Hitting a fan with his own shoe became more fun! 😆 It is said by many hockey players, including some Bruins in their interviews this morning, that Pat maroon "changes a locker room", he changes the psychology of the game. Even from the bench. you may have recalled the last two playoffs for the Bruins - the hurricanes tossing pasta around, Brad Marchand sitting in the bad boy box trying to play enforcer. Fast forward to Panthers clocking our goalie off the head, chokeholds, Bear hugs on the boards. And I didn't have a problem with it! Tkachuck wanted that cup more than we did - gentleman Patrice Bergeron and our coach would not let the team respond ... Until the following season when Charlie McAvoy got suspended first game out against Panthers this season. 🙄 Doing what someone like Chara, Ritchie, Lucic & Maroon should've/could've done last playoffs. Because our scorers & penalty killers were sitting in the penalty box, that was ridiculous. I absolutely agree with you - leave the fighting to Trent and a couple of other boys - but Pat can help avoid some of those fights, so we can get onto the business of winning. It's my understanding he came out this season like a bat outta hell. And Charlie Coyle tipped his hand during an interview Friday morning saying he was seen on Boston ice training already, saying he bumped into him, he'd seen him before they announced the trade - and the reporters jumped on that. The look on Coyles face was like oh s***! What did I just say? Then he had to backtrack with some rumor about Pat's kid being in a tournament. Maroon has been in Boston training with some of the best rehabs, doctors and trainers in the world. Before this deal went down, Bruins medical staff likely already went over his progress and keeping an eye on it. In Boston. Zdeno Chara was at that Toronto game watching Brad Marchand get cross-checked across the throat, from the press box -I'm betting he picked up the phone and gave Pat a call! Oh this is going to be fun!

Check out his footage He's got some feisty highlights, but he's not always the winner of the Feist! 2016 #34 drafted to CBJ 6 ft 3 in 210+ lb, Florida boy came up through Notre Dame we can always use the right d, willing to dish it out and take it, reminds me of bertuzzi in a way. I think his career average is about a half a point per game. played 2 full seasons with Columbus, only 23 games this season with one goal and seven assists.. don't know if he was injured Not known for scoring. Looking at his highlights, he's meant to be a scrapper agitator. But Bruins system calls for defense scoring, playing all 200 ft so, I guess he'll come in as a potential role player for the rest of this season - his $2.75 mil contract goes through 2026? I'm not sure if Columbus is retaining anything. But he's got some interesting highlights - he looks like he could be a Derek Sanderson / Bertuzzi type. And then the last deal Bruins did today was to sign an AHL winger, Joey Abate, 1 year two-way contract - he's described as "an agitator" There seems to be a theme going on 🤔 I'm old enough to barely remember the big bad Bruins of 1972 . I might be having a deja vu. Because 1971, new coach Tom Johnson came into Boston to set the most winning regular season franchise record. The one they broke last year with new coach Jim Montgomery - and in 71 they went down to the Habs first round of the playoffs. My father was pissed! But the following year the big bad Bruins came back to win the cup. So I'm feeling history repeating itself. . First thing I thought of when I saw Andrew Peeke with his helmet off? Derek Sanderson.
