There is nothing else that sounds like the Steel Guitar and Paul Franklin knows how to bring the best out on it. I am proud that I have been playing the Steel for 69 years starting in and around 1948.

What a great performance particularly in the casual setting, Paul Franklin is absolutely brilliant here. Never has a pedal steel guitar 'cried' like he can make it cry. Amazing!

How many hands, knees, toes and brains does it take just to IMAGINE the flow of intricated notes Paul Franklin is delivering in this one ? What an incredible and mesmerizing solo! The deep admiration in Vince's eyes says it all...

The first time I ever heard this song was in my parent’s sitting room where my Father was laid out. My Mother had just passed 4 months before. As I sat there, I began listening to the words in the song. They were so apt. It was as though my Father was talking to me, letting me know that it’s ok “ we’re together again”. I took this as a sign. This song is now very special in a happy way.. Thank you

I've had, " a front row seat to hear ol Pauly play " travelled all the way from Sydney in 2000 to the Station Inn in Nashville. Worth every cent!!! He even played a solo that everyone there fell silent for a second (it was that brilliant) then exploded into rapturous applause. Even he himself seemed to look surprised as to where it came from. Then that big grin from ear to ear. Absolute freakin legend!

Paul, is by far THE, best pedal steel player in the world.
@jth80024 ай бұрын
Thank you. One of his greatest influences, and teachers was my grandmother. All the up until she passed she always bragged about him. Even had a picture of him as well as his father hung up on the basement where she taught. I remember going in every Sunday to play with her and always seeing it right at the bottom of the stairs.

Paul Franklin is indeed the star of this song with his stellar steel pedal work but lets not forget the lady to Vince Gill's right. With a hat on, hiding the effects of chemotherapy, the great Dawn Sears sings back up. The year is 2014 and Dawn would pass away in December of 2014. Gone but never Forgotten. Ms. Dawn Sears.
