Owl House sort of fell off for me because of Belos' backstory, time traveling and a witch hunter, not to mention his overly complicated and convoluted plan, which wouldn't have even worked without an ass heap of luck. It also fumbles with it's message in the first episode, it tries to say that being weird is not wrong, but Luz wasn't weird, she was dangerous, who brings snakes and fireworks to a school... for a book report. The conformatoriam also bothers me, if witches can be petrified, why have the stupid thing? Also, introducing Belos in the penultimate season 1 episode without giving us more information of hints is really bad.

Your idea about Lus accidentally being rude to Amity once she finds out about her being vampiric has SO MANY angst opportunities! Like as is its possible for Amity to get insecure bc of how Luz is, like she's so interested in witches etc it gives opportunities for people to feel,,,, idk objectified..? I guess. Like Luz wouldn't but like its possible for it to be taken that way especially if there are insecurities about bloodline/heritage. And Amity may over analyse her interactions with Luz wondering if Luz treats her differently. Also I ADORE your design. It's so pretty and suits her so well and gives her more personality

Just with Amity's vampiric appearance and your opinion on the relationship between Willow and Amity, I can see a scene where Willow and Amity reconcile and hug and then we do a close-up on Willow's face and she says something like "but if you hurt Luz like you hurt me I promise I'll throw you to a garlic-gator/alig-garlic" (basically a giant carnivorous garlic clove which is the natural predator of vampires, acting as their kryptonite).

Nah, when Amity started to become friends/lover of Luz, all her personality was lost. Why can't the mean girl be good and still have her personally trait? I love her insults and arrogance she had. She can still be an adorable goof, but I can imagine she will be a little tsundere to Luz whenever she gets nervous around her. I would have love that Amity loves to do Grudgby still so we can have the sporty mean girl geek. Also Lumity isn't for me because I believe a good relationship needs to have both characters be fleshed out and have their own time apart and develop. Which is why I like Huntlow more despite it being rush? They got their own character arcs and problems to sort out before getting into the relationship.

For real I wish some of the things amity liked stuck around or she showed interest in other things cause shes kinda stuck through most the series also YES while some couples adopt each others mannerisms I still would have loved if amity was still a but un kind to others like her and hunters meanness where great like I get the message cause Luz is like the kind change everyone through friendship but peoples overall personalities dont just Overwrite completely

A good example of this actually is Weiss Schnee from RWBY. Don’t get me wrong, that show has flaws, but I think it handled the snotty, arrogant rich girl character arc better than most as Weiss loses her ignorance and contempt but NOT her sass and pride. By the Atlas arc Weiss is seen acknowledging and apologizing for her and her family’s attitude towards the Faunus, using her family’s resources to help those less fortunate, fighting for a chance to save EVERYONE rather than just the Atlesians (her own people), etc. BUT she’s also shown whining about not having time to sleep, complaining about having to eat canned food, instantly shutting down back talking from her brother, and being overly expositional about things she is knowledgeable about. She still has those traits typically associated with that type of character, she’s just morally a much better person now. I love that they developed her character’s emotional maturity without completely changing her fundamental personality and background

I love how you made Amity more fashionable because although I like how she was dressing on her own terms after standing up to her mom(also I believe the creater, Dana, posted a post about how the Blight siblings mom made them all color coordinated), but I didn't like the colors, especially with the red leggings mixing with the black dress/shirt and lavender hair like I didn't like it. I also love your ideas of Luz accidentally be mean toward her by stereotyping Amity and her family because of their appearances as vampires and how Willow is upset of how Amity has a crush on her new best friend. Lastly, I can't wait for Eda's video.

as soon as i saw the sketch, i got so excited that you gave her a nose more like her father's! it's such a crime that not ONE child got to actually resemble him. makes me wonder if his wife cast some sort of spell so they could have a face similar to hers (but probably not, cause she likely wouldve just given amity her hair color as well). the outfit is great too. so much more personality and coordination. and ur right, the show really did drop the ball with amity! thank you for not being afraid to say it, cause i honestly didnt end up liking her as much as the show went on. she just wasnt the same person as she was when she was first introduced, and i know some of that is parental influence, but she seriously shouldnt have done a complete 180 also! i love the ideas of her gem glowing at different points. wouldve been a great hint at what was happening with her, but they ended up only using it for like one episode and i believe it gets destroyed/discarded in the same ep! like, cmon! and i agree that willow shouldve said SOMETHING to amity. it feels like their relationship with each other was really glossed over as well, and their development was so rushed and... it just didnt hit like it needed to. anyways, i love your art! this was a great watch :D

15:04 same, honestly. don't get me wrong, i think lumity is cute and all, but ... i don't know :/ they didn't really have a lot of romantic chemistry for me to get genuinely invested in them, if that makes sense?? this could just be a me thing, so feel free to disagree, but to me their relationship kinda felt like it was being pushed with all these not-so-subtle moments of them blushing and stuff ("stay away from MY luz!" actually made me cringe i'm sorry 💀). not to say crushes are "subtle", per se; i just would've preferred if we at least got to see them being FRIENDS first before moving on to girlfriends almost as soon as amity stopped being a "mean girl"

OMG! Love the idea of the Blights being vampire descendents❤ It always bothered me that none of the Witches had any otherworldly features or abilities that would cause Luz & Belos to stand out more as humans thus making it essential that Belos use his mask & making it more evident to the demon realm that Luz was an outsider. Owl house redesigns let's go! I like the idea of Amity having a vampiric background in her family as I don't think we really saw that many hybrid/mixed characters (or maybe we did idk it's been a while since I watched the show), and having Luz ask questions about being a vampire would be interesting and pretty funny especially if she's taking what she knows from fictional books that she's read. All in all really love the design and the outfit you put her in, can't wait to see how you tackle Eda!

I personally never liked Amity's casual outfit, not only did it feel bland and interesting. But it didn't make sense why her mother dictated her hair style and color. But didn't have any day over what amity wore? Also this design is so pretty, I like that it looks like she's part of a hierarchy and has high status.

I always felt a bit detached to Amity and didn’t know how to explain it, so it felt very nice hearing someone say almost everything that was going on my mind! Amity did have a bit of a Millie problem, and it’s kinda sad because there is so much from her background that could have been used! I remember that when the show was airing I thought that we would get a separate Amity episode about her and her Palisman (since she didn’t appear on the adoption day) and maybe I would get a bit more from her but yeah. Still love the show tho

Like I understand they made up kinda but in my opinion Willow is way to chill about them dating. It honestly feels like the show didn't address any issues she could have had so they could push out Luz and Amity's relationship faster which I get because of all the grief Disney probably gave them but still I'd like Willow to at least be cold towards Amity or SOMETHING because as it stands it feels like Amity got away with her bullying because gay.

TOH REDESIGNS! I've really been looking forward to see your take on them since i discovered your channel. I don't hate the look of Toh but i do think the demon world lacks a bit of extra flair in terms of design, yes the outfits aren't following human fashion but i found them to lack an extra flair. I know it's animated so they had to cut down on detail but even just more accentuated shapes could've worked better in my opinion. About amity's design the biggest gripe i have with it is how bald she looks in season two (though i am biased cause i loved her season 1 hair), i don't like the style at all, much prefer when it's grown out in season 3

I like your design of her it has a lot of thought put into it and although detailed I can easily see a simplified version that still holds onto the elements of the design while being easy to animate. Owl house was never a show I could get into as although the concept was interesting and some episodes I liked there was a lot of pacing issues (I know it was canceled but the pacing was a problem even during season 1). And the world building was a bit lackluster for my taste as there was too much real world tech and concepts but with a magic coat of paint over it (I mean they had a witch convention and it looked almost exactly like Comecon even down to the booths). Though I never watched past the first half of season 2 so they might have fixed some of that. But unfortunately seeing how they were scrambling when it was announced it was going to be cancelled they writers didn’t follow some of the basic rules in entertainment “always assume you’re not getting another season (especially when you’re on the first season as that’s the make or break point)” and “be prepared to kill your darlings” meaning if you’re creating a story driven show you need to be ok with and prepared to cut out all the filler and side ideas and focus only on the story if you manage to fit in everything you wanted to tell in that season and have some episodes left over for fun side stuff then go for it but we’re no longer in the age of 20 episodes a season hell we’re not even in the 12 episodes a season anymore so the opportunity to tell a fully fleshed out story with side filler is becoming less of an option.

As a vampire/bat lover as a motif, I adore this version! She is so cute! I also find weird that I didnt like as much Lumity. Owl House got my interessing when it was ending 😭, so I dont want to be the guy to like "I know everything" but I felt that she feels just a lover interess. Oh my goodness I absolutely love the vampiric features so much! I actually thought when I first saw Amity that she was a vampire because she was really pale like the Bat Queen so I thought “ohh a connection they are one in the same sorta” but yeah! And although we have Vee as part of the cast I would’ve loved to see more demons that weren’t witches that were a part of the cast, like that one Mushroom guy I absolutely loved his design he was everything! Anyways LOVE the design and I can’t wait to see Eda!! ^^

Like maybe when Eda gets cursed, her ears become longer and gain feathers to look like the “horns”/ear tufts owls sometimes have and sorta like what she has in her harpy form, and maybe hunter’s are extra short and a bit deformed since he’s “descended” from a human Idk just so many neat opportunities to add some extra details to the characters that were totally missed

My issue with Amity is that she was reduced to Luz’s “awesome girlfriend,” and she had little outside of this. She could’ve been a far more interesting character if the writers hadn’t connected her to Luz at the hip. Amity should’ve been more than just a girlfriend of the main character.

Yeah they really shot themselves in the foot with that one cause like as much as they wanna say that isnt 100% true it is while yeah amity has a few moments to herself it only ever comes when Luz is there even if Luz is the main character amity didnt need to kick start every time she was around

It’s like they ran out of ideas of what to do to them, so they just stuck them together in a forced romantic relationship and made that their characters. There's more that could've been done with Amity, Hunter, and Willow outside of romance.

F-ING THANK YOU I cant tell you how many times I've said that about hunter and willow and everyone was just like will the show was ending sooooo and its like NO the show ended should have stopped the romance as it just takes time away from other characters like we have roughly 2 solid romances happing to the main characters we dont need it for the supporting cast plus it's so stupid how they forced that's right forced hunter and willow like AHHHHHHHH sorry I have so much built up XD

Omg love your Amity design fr Also Hecate/Hekate is also associated with the moon in Greek mythos so it makes sense to why Amity would also be into moon related stuff seeing how shes into Azura's version of Hecate I don't know other symbolism related to crescent moons so that's all I got xd

Fun fact: while having vampires biting the neck is super wide spreed it'll usually cause a puncher wound and for the person there feeding off of to bleed to death. No seriously look it up I sugest having go for the chest insteed (obviously away from the heart) if you want more romantic feeding.

This redesing is so cute! Love how well you mixed her outfits into one. This style really fits her and i like how you make her look more like Alador. I always feel like Amity's development was badly afected by the show being cut short. Specialy her relationship with her dad, don't get me wrong, i like what they did with her and Alador, but i wish they had an episode only for them (without Luz) or at least a B-plot where we see them getting closer. Because Amity forgiving him and trusting him after he enables Odalia's abuse for years feelt a little bit rushed for me. I love Amity just as she is in the show, but i really wish we had those extra 20 episodes, because he story with her family is where it really shows that they had to cut stuff because of the cancelation. Can't wait to see you talk about Willow and Hunter when you redesing them.

As someone who watches Lily Orchad and agreeses heavily with her takes on the show, I think Amity as just "Luz's girlfriend" is fine. I mean, would you rather April 2012 where she tries desperately to NOT just be the girlfriend and fails miserably? The creator knew how much they had for her, and stuck to it instead of trying to make new things for her that wouldn't work. My only issue is we never find out why Amitt pikes Azura so much, we know Luz's reason but jot Amity. If it had been an attempt to connect with her mother outside of academics or something Willow liked that Amity picked up after their fight, that would add so much. And could probably lead into her relationship with her siblings

I like how you design the characters like amity look younger in the cannon drawing but the au looks like older/her age and it would make me think amity in the au is like 13-15.

Everyone is aging about 1 yr so amity luz and willow are 15 now while gus is now 13 and hunter 17 (hands down wish the show did one birthday so we could no how long it's been cause Luz left during the summer (june) and S3 starts around the week of Halloween so its probably been like 5 months of everything happening yet NO ONE hand a birthday granted they have 2 months till the end of the yr but I refuse to believe there where all born around November or December XD
