Welcome to my tokyo apartment! It's crazy remembering that i used to live in 8 square meters. Now it’s so nice to be able to buy furniture and have more control over the design of the place. I forgot to mention that this place came partially furnished, but we have had to buy quite a bit of stuff too :)

Get a piece or two with multicolored like a frosted curtain with colored stripes that have some of the bathrooms current theme and other colors to add too. Think of the mint and cream like seashells and that greenish seawater. It’ll make it seem less...odd.

hey Emma, the colors that I have seen match with mint green and cream colors would be White, very light or pale orange, peach and maybe pale yellow. shades of brown may also work.

You're bathroom colors remind me of sea glass. If you accented with blue, green and citrine glass and used natural fibers in a sand color, it could be quite airy and coordinated.

Gold goes with green and cream, I had a horrible avocado bath in my first house, I masked random tiles off and sprayed them with gold paint; quickly realised that was not a good idea (ventilation and aerosol do not mix well), and switched to gold paint (craft section of diy store, metallic and then sealed in with a spray plastic craft sealer. Added a few accents, and it was amazing. X

Hi Emma, I would go for a clear showercurtain just to let more light in. And maybe a bathmat in light Aquamarine just to go with the Finding Nemo-theme you've got gong on there. The place looks nice BTW.

You should add plants/faux plants in your bathroom especially in areas that you can see and keep a light yet playful theme with the curtains, towel and bath rug. Rugs and lamps would also make a great addition to your space. It would make your space more cohesive and fluid. Also, happy that your home is ur mini sanctuary. Congrats!

I’m so happy for you Emma. I married my high school boyfriend and we have a daughter (in sydney) I’m 32 now, I think I was so lost in my 20s, didn’t know what I wanted, would’ve loved to go to Japan for a year to work and experience the culture but... I’m content now and my daughter is top priority, she’s only 2. So I’m basically living through your experience in Japan :) love your videos and I love how real you are.

Also if you get one of those clear but milk glass shower curtains type curtains wouldn't have to worry about matching color it would pick up the colors from the bathtub and wall and blend it all together

Cool to see you so settled in. Love the hamster on the tower. For the bathroom I have a clear shower curtain which has a white print. It gives an illusion of bigger space and more importantly lets the light through.

Maybe you can find a long shower curtain that can hang outside the bath to cover up the green tub (in addition to the one that stops the water) so then you are visually just working with cream when not enjoying a nice green&cream bath?? There are some blues that could work nicely in that case. Also as someone without bathroom ventilation who had to strip the paint/plaster the walls/repaint over one long week in January after we got mold, save yourself from my headache, keep the bathroom door and apartment window open after a shower. Like, every time. I drive my husband crazy with this rule but it has prevented it from coming back. :D

You can buy tile paint or stickers to cover the cream and just have green accessories to bring the bath colour in, or maybe have a forest theme bathroom

Great change!!! Congrats! For the bathroom try going with greens. Its not so dark as blue. Go with pastel greens or light / strong ones. Try colours like pantone 15-0343 / 13-0223 and 12-0525 mix and match! Have fun!

You could totally do whites and soft florals in the bathroom. That's way it will feel lighter and you could get a clear with print shower curtain.

Wonderful apartment! You may want to check out Ikea, they have different size island with wheels that lock for the kitchen. They have lots of space for storage and you can prepare food and eat at it.

Yay for Beefy. Bathroom: double curved shower rod with clear liner and off white 3/4 clear vinal "window" on top. Removable derative wall on wall space next to mirror. Bonus tile cleaning tip. Hot water, nail brush and generic oxy type powdered cleaner. When dry apply clear nail polish to groute. Nice place!

Drop the dark blue curtain of your bathroom with a transparent one, go get an orange soap dispenser (for more contrast), break out the medicine cabinet and hang up a big mirror instead over the whole wall if you like, build a shelf on top of the washing sink. And also get rid of corner shower shelf, you can place everything below the sink if you buy/make a custom mini drawer. These are some of my suggestions.

I remember having a green and cream color bathroom. The easiest thing for me to do was use earth tones and a bamboo printed shower curtain. That way light could still get through. I think it was PVC

A light yellow with cream polkadots is the pattern of shower curtain you should think about. Light yellow is a good solution to your problem without going pink. I thinking it would go nicely with the cream and green you have going for you.

i think some white with some subtle design (flowers?) or a pale yellow might work in the bathroom! you can try looking for shower curtains that are clear but with a pattern so the light still comes in! my shower has a clear curtain, but with a dot pattern i found off of amazon so it blurs the view a little but still lets the light in well :)

you could do a clear shower curtain with a print maybe mermaidish colors, green gold purple blue, wood tones would also look nice. if you want to redo your emergency stool you could use an old t-shirt for some fabric if you have any that have a cute print. Really great tour. The apartment looks really good!

Light green and cream chevron pattern for the shower curtain. Maybe teal? Also when you get a new shower curtain, maybe you can tack the navy blue one under your tree tapestry where it ends in your bedroom. That way it looks like a dark border on the bottom of the tapestry.

You can also like the ceiling and top 1/3 of the cabinet with tinfoil for residual steam after you've made and poured water, etc.

I'm pretty sure they make risers for your table legs to be taller. It looks fine how it is though. You should cut off the brown part of the leaf. It spreads to the green part. & your plant will be happier.
