This is unfortunate that even with the weak Yen they are jacking the prices up to mitigate.... They are hurting their sales and volumes massively.

I guess it depends on what they buy these watches for. They couldn’t care less however about the weak Yen, most customers are domestic. And foreigm buyers can get a tax refund even on second hand watches which is not possible in Europe (new, original merchandise only).

If i go to Japan i would look for Rare Japanese watches , Seiko , Orient , Citizen and co. not Rolex ....

Why not Rolex? They have a lot of rare Swiss watches in Tokyo, even more than in Europe or the US.

They have more affordable models as well, such as Seiko, Tag Heuer, etc. Definitely worthwhile to visit there. Although I find that TAG watches are way overpriced in Japan.

You find quite a few of them especially at some of the smaller shops. Many customers don’t want the boxes because they take the watches home overseas and don’t want the boxes to attract attention at customs.

Because the currency in Japan is Yen. But if you want to know pricing for any specific model I can have a look, I’m going here once a month.
