So which one do you think in your opinion is better, tm or the ghk akm?
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
Ahh yes. Seen this question pop up a few times. The GHK has a lot of shit going on with it. The core advantages though are great, and it’s too bad the lack of standards and fundamentals within the company prohibit that series from achieving greatness. Tokyo Marui is a decision you make logically. Yes you’re accepting its (few) insignificant features in return for a platform that has had the best minds in the industry develop it. I said it somewhere else that if you take into consideration what would be on the horizon, it’s a GBBR that has a lot of value. And it can be whatever you want it to be. Just like an M4 we’ve all come to know and love.

@@rolandyu8557 That’s a big ‘if’! The whole chamber and nozzle section needs to be overhauled. Consistency and durability, with as little margin for error as possible. Then it’ll be doing what every other good gas gun can do…as standard. I think that’s asking too much though.

@@BadaBingPictures Not to mention that the externals are pretty much LCT so spare parts are very easily obtainable. Besides that, slap some Hephaestus stuff in it and you can rock and roll with a GHK AK. With the TM now that there are real wood kits and also steel barrel and rod and more internal upgrades coming up, it makes a very interesting platform. So in my opinion it's like this: If you want realism, pick GHK. If you want performance, pick TM. Am I right?

Great video as always ! I'm surprised to see the receiver paint finish on your list of bad things, as far as I'm concerned I really do like the finish of it ^^ I agree on the limited capability to lift heavier bbs, 0.28 gr is really the maximum you can use. Which feels good enough to me though. And personally I've never been a big fan of the "green gas mod". I guess there is a point if you want to load bbs in your magazine during a game (which is understandable since magazines are hard to get), but personally I always have the possibility to put gas when I put bbs in my magazines, so in comparison I prefer to not have to care about putting too much gas in my magazines.

Hey buddy! Hope you are well? Thanks. Yeah, I had to mention the finish as personally I find it unattractive. I couldn’t go without saying something about it haha. Absolutely. I say, an airsoft with good internals and performance; we can excuse the externals. But an airsoft with a lottery for internals and performance, what use are the good externals? The bucking is all you really need replaced in the TM AKM as you said. The nozzle assembly doesn't even need anything to allow the use of propane/green gas. I'm very excited with the aftermarket parts already available and are being teased by manufacturers. Lots of people are waiting on some good-fitting shortened front kits. The mags though... yeah, it's still the biggest thorn (though I guess the only one?) in the TM AKM. I only got 2 more in December after I've had mine for 7 months haha.

Results are I am lifting a .32 on about level 4 of the hop wheel, and getting great distance. With a joules high of 1.08 with lowest being 0.94. Average of roughly 1.01 joules or 270 fps. Hey BadaBing! You just surprised me with the perfect video to pair with my wife's home made vanilla pudding with strawberries ;-) Do me a favour, look inside the fake gas block. If I know TM they put some spring or something inside there to soften the blow of the returning carrier. At least that's my guess why the piston goes that deep inside the gas block. And by the way, this MacBook that I'm using right now is telling me that I made a typo in the word "favour" as if the American spelling would be the right one. And here is some input for your GKM vs TM AKM video that you'll hopefully make: My GKM didn't hop BBs, not even on max! So I got a Maple Leaf hopup set with a 410mm Crazy Jet. But that is almost a centimetre longer than the OEM barrel, the hopup unit's tabs are thicker than the OEM's and my trunnion is crooked so I can't install the Maple Leaf upgrades. Unfortunately it is too late to send the Crazy Jet back and exchange it to a 370mm one. People at GHK think I'm crapping money or something. I thing the OEM hopup wasn't hopping because the nub came incorrectly installed from the factory :-/
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
Vanilla pudding and strawberries?! No way! Sounds divine. Glad to see you back in the comments section! There is no spring in the gas black by the way. It’s just empty. @@BadaBingPictures Awesome, I can't wait! In the meantime I've confirmed, indeed the nub came incorrectly installed, once I've assembled everything correctly the GKM started working very well for an OEM gun. So annoyingly problematic gun, and this comes from a guy who has 5 WE GBBRs :) But hey, it works well in 7℃ on normal green gas.

There's a third-party full bolt travel kit in the works, and there's also a wood kit for the furniture, so by far the TM is the better offer for anyone interested in 1:1 AKM GBBR. One thing to note, however, is I don't like the sling position as it's inaccurate to the real deal, sadly, on the stock of both the main plastic version, and the wood offer. Might have to hope I can either make actual furniture fit, or someone else can sell a more accurate deal.

Once the 1st batch of them have been sold, we’ll soon hear feedback from everyone that has bought one. I was going to compare my V2 GHK with the TM AKM, but it might be pointless at this stage.

Finally had a chance to get hands on with one today, have to say its well put together compared to a GHK but it really lacked something in the firing. The recoil really wasn't there at all for me which is half the fun of a GBBR. I felt distinctly underwhelmed.

Will you ever consider getting a We ak now to complete the AK GBBR review set?
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think I will. Its a big investment when you consider the costs of the rifle + mags and time. Time is perhaps the biggest cost of all because it takes a lot of it to get to know the system. Plus all the weeks sat behind the computer. I just don’t have that ability.

Hi. Recommended gas with TM GBB’s is always 144a type. Me personally I only use propane. The best gas would be anything without silicone oil additives, because that gets squirted through the system and you’ll be forever cleaning out your inner barrel/hop.

Looks too sterile in my opinion. Real AKs are rougher around the edges in every aspect. Too bad, no real wood and no steel. That's a deal breaker for me but what TM really excels in, is the actual function of the gun. I doubt you get a more accurate, durable and reliable Gas blowback AKM from any other manufacturer. Compared to the new upcoming GHK AKM V3 this seems to be the better GBBR when not taking the built materials into account.

@@davidhalliwell6844 Honestly I do recommend changing the stock hop up bucking/rubber. The maple leaf purple bucking I have at the moment is advertised to increase fps, with green gas it gets me on the line of site limits so I'd recommend a Mr.Hop, the range I got using one was great using 0.28g BBs. I think I fitted it wrong as shots curved to the left at long range, I'll give it another go or get a new one and see. Though I have seen in a few places that this could be fault of the hop arm design and looking into a nub or something for that is good to lift heavier BBS and keep them straight. No that half bolt travel is definitely not in my liking one little bit, I don’t see why they make such a huge gaff here, I’m afraid it could well be a deal breaker in my case, say nothing about the ‘plastic’ stock and hand guards I know the AR platform has polymer (keep your hair on) they have been polymer from the factory from the get go in the 50s, I’m an AR guy so I’m probably nit picking however you can buy a AK airgun with full wood where wood is suppose to be half price of this AKM, I must say it looks good in fact it’s a beauty, but it’s just not right not for the price, I think this time I’ll probably get another colt, gbb carbine M4 platform instead!.

Hey bro, good to see you in the comments! To be fair to them they squeeze a lot out of a mag full of gas. Enough to run the big old action beyond a single magazine load. @garrettwilson26262 жыл бұрын
At this point, might as well get a real one lmao. But for an airsoft ak, this is probably as authentic as you can get to the real thing. Plus, you learn the fundamentals of a real ak, taking out the recoil spring and the gas piston, cleaning them, etc. The only problem for me is the plastic stock as mentioned, mags, and of course, price. Being a 500 dollar airsoft and having a plastic stock is kind of a let down. And mags? I hope they have a variation of different styled mags for it. Like a "waffle pattern" mag, and/or a bakelite mag. I wouldn't like to be stuck using a ribbed mag only. I wanna be able to spice it up. Price. Yeah this airsoft is up there for a legit reason. I just feel like I can stretch out 500 and get instead of just 1 gun, plenty of gear and couple new backup rifles and pistols, along with ammo and gas. It is indeed a sick gun, I feel like it would be worth 500 if it had REAL wood for the handguard and stock, and different styled mags to choose from. To me, it seems like playability for this gun is kinda low.
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
I’d like a real one too. I would be too tempted to fire it in the house though. I heard a pillow will muffle the shot. I don’t think TM would make different mags for it. At a stretch for the M4 they released a 20rd shorty and also a slightly different one for their Type 89 Japan Defence Rifle. If they get around to making a 5.45 version the mags might be interchangeable…maybe.

The "proprietary magazines" and "no 3rd party mags" items in your _cons_ list seem a bit out of place. Each AK GBBR manufacturer has their own mag specs it would be weird to expect otherwise. Plus these mags work great so I don't see the need for aftermarket ones. Almost feels like you were really, really trying to take the list to 9 in order to match the _pros_ list. On the other hand, the lacking hop and the plastic fantastic furniture are easily worth 2 points each :p
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mr Corradini, Hope you’re well. Yeah sure. It would be nonsense to expect cross compatibility. They’re the ones setting the standard, so that’s my shoddy writing. I suppose it wouldn’t be much of a problem regarding the hop if we all had to abide by the same regs as Japan. Thankfully we don’t. Now we’ll have to open it up to do something about it. Honestly the plastic furniture isn’t all that bad. Side by side with the LCT furniture and it’s disheartening.
