You can negate min-min punches with an active hitbox. Use one to protect yourself off-stage. Belmont Axe, Link boomerang, and arrows. All lose to an active hitbox. if you have a long-lasting hitbox, like wolf nair, Cloud forward air. You can swing through the projectile and land a hit. Iron balls like Krool Cannon. Plant spike ball. Have different properties. Things like bombs, Bananas, and holy fire. Can be caught and used against your opponent.

At this point it’s become clear (at least to me) he’s really good at using the B.S. FGC’s mechanic’s that have honestly been a problem since Smash 4 and I’m surprised it doesn’t get brought up more. All 4 of them are and have always been BS characters, despite what tier lists or character reps may suggest. Riddles just so happens to be the few players at that top level to bother taking advantage of their nonsense.

@@user-be3qc7re9o Uhh Yeah, it still is. Winning majors or lack thereof doesn’t necessarily mean a character isn’t fundamentally busted in some way. If zoners, or swordies didn’t exist in the game to be able to keep them at bay then they’d absolutely be able dumpster the meta. Easy to excuse combos that easily rack up damage from very spammable tilts and jab (the literal most basic attack in the game) with auto turn around assist that can also double as a kill set up at mid percents meaning there’s little to no windows for set setups meaning you have a very generous margin for error with the Shoto’s(yes this includes Terry, he’s functionally a shoto.) they can just throw these out with little risk and making the mistake of daring to get hit by a single tilt or jab can get you killed at ridiculous percents. No other characters in the game function that way, and it’s nonsense.

This is further backed up by the official tier list placing them promptly in the high tier position, which is still very good, but not Top Tier. You also ignore the fact that the FGCs require MANUAL INPUTS to even get their kills half the time. Players like Bacon and Tsumosuto have managed to beat Takera's Ken and Riddles' Terry with DOCTOR MARIO of all characters, a character who is arguably one of the worst characters in the whole game.

The reason so many people hate Kazuya and fgc characters is because they almost are like literally cheating. Kazuya with a move can decide your death plus he has a sht ton of kill moves. Terry has a lot of broken moves too like busted wolf. That’s why so many people hate them because they’re super cheesy. Ken/Ryu jab jab up b kill wow so skillful. Even if they have a bad disadvantage state, their offensive options are straight up ridiculous

I get why many say Riddles is carried, when you consider how both his successful mains share big gimmicks that work against almost every other top tier. Sure, Min-min can outcheap Kazuya, and even the best Terry has probably a couple of nightmare MUs, but not with characters that you see win or even get close to major wins regularly. I'd be more impressed if he proved success with a more technical character; Leo certainly isn't the only one that has done so.
