TOKYO VICE INTERVIEW | Why they did not do a "The Hunt for Red October" | Embrace the subtitles!

I had a great time talking with J.T. Rogers and Alan Poul about their excellent tv show TOKYO VICE. We talk a bunch about how the fact the show is in Japanese might frighten some viewers but how this also was the best and only choice. Thankfully, most viewers seems to embrace the subtitles!
The second season of Tokyo Vice comes to MAX on February 8. And the new season is even better than the first!

Feel obliged to mention the existence of anime. It's quite likely many of the younger viewers enjoying Tokyo Vice (myself included) have viewed more hours of subtitled Japanese than the three of these gentlemen combined. Side note: The Hunt For Red October rules and the language transition still feels seamless. EDIT: Maybe not Jonathan, judging by his Funko collection.

Haha good eye ;) But yeah, that's a good point as well! Anime has been on the rise for quite some time too now.
