Thank you for this video, it was great to see how much fun you had as well as this absolutely amazing event. Myself and my son are planning to visit the Sapporo Snow Festival either next year or the year after, it always amazes us how beautiful these snow and ice sculptures are. It was also great to see how they are making these, I mean the love heart at the end, very skillful craftsmanship indeed. All the best from the UK - and looking forward to seeing the foodie video soon ☺

That sounds like an amazing trip! The Sapporo Snow Festival is definitely a bucket-list experience. Can’t wait to hear about your adventures there! And yes, the craftsmanship is just mind-blowing. Enjoy planning your visit!
The light snowfall was so nice to see. Also, the temperatures didn’t seem that cold if you dressed appropriately. Double digit minus weather would have been much harder to film in. Excited to see the rest of the series. I never consider traveling to another cold weather destination for vacation however, maybe once in my life I would like to see Sapporo or Harbin in the winter.

True! It was much more photogenic with a bit of snowfall ☺️ It was still pretty cold for a Tokyo person 😂 I heard the Harbin one is nice too! But I think that’s gonna be even colder 😱❄️

This is such a cool video. Japan has some beautiful snow around where it snows in the country of Japan. Hope you had a good Valentine's day week Sarah.

Great video as always! I was fortunate to been able to see the festival when I was in Japan last year. It's nice to see the new sculptures from this year! Especially Golden Kamuy.😂

At night, there was projection mapping onto the snow train station. Lovely narrative animation. Northern Alena, who lives in Sapporo, has a video.

Hey, I was there!!! Ordered that Amazake twice on separate days.. 300 yen a cup.. Needed that one to warm up. There are also free 2 cans of Asahi beer per day, one with an open top can, that needs lining up.. Nice to bounce around with those creepy things with blinking eyes near the TV Tower...

Oh you were there too! I hope you enjoyed it! The amazake was a lifesaver 😮💨 Yea yes I saw that they were giving out beer! But my body didn’t want cold drinks in that weather so I didn’t queue up 🥹

It is actually my 2nd time to attend the festival, I was there last 2019, I am attending it again next year as I already booked my flight.

We did Sapporo and Hakodate in November. My body just cannot handle the constant air conditioning in cold cities, and got a sinus infection. Doing the Snow Festival is just never going to happen for me, unless I do it in a day without going in any buildings.

Thank you for the video. I visiited the snow festival in 2019, but when i arrived all the snow sculptures were already built. Im going again in 2024, if I wanted to see some of the building do I need to be there before the first day of the festival?
