Hello, a German Bavarian writing here! Pretzels are very very sensitive to too much humidity. It makes them chewy and soft - no matter how well they were made. It just looks like the one you bought suffered from too humid weather. Here we always say don't buy pretzels on humid/rainy days cause they won't taste as good :D

I was a lucky kid to have lived on Hokkaido many decades ago. Spent 3 years at Chitose Army post and the winters were fabulous! We had so much snow and everyone ice skated and went skiing. Playing outside was the best. We went to the Snow festival every year we were there. The temps were usually 10-15F in winter but warmed up a bit when it snowed. I miss the island...there's so much to do all year long there and the people are friendly and warm.

@amina0074 March 2 to 13. Sapporo was all in snow. Super Cold weather. I had 4 layers of clothing. Thermal, puffer jacket and Winter boots/shoes are the must haves. Some snow that hardened were slippery.
