A lot has been said about the bass player. That is fine, but maybe I'm missing something here. Why isn't more comments being said about the lady playing the Shamisen? She is amazing. I feel that Funk is kind of alien to that instrument. Keep up the great work.

OMG!!! I could study a lifetime of George Clinton , Bootsy Collins, or James Brown funk and never get it as in the pocket as these ladies. Very tight & those lead runs take me back to the 1970's where momentary spotlights meant something. I give you all more than a hat's off. Standing ovation is more appropriate. Great job! Travail spectaculaire!

Loving this! These ladies have groove for MILES... and Funk for Decades. Juna totally rocks that bass! Yuriko Seki has a fantastic flair, in her variant rhythm patterns. She's very unpredictable, and a complete master of the tom roll... and then there's Emi's keyboard wizardry. I never thought I'd see the day, when a Syamisen would be used in a Jazz performance...but here it is! Love it!

These women are phenomenal. Just recently discovered them in YT my feed and have been listening to every thing they have on YT. Who'd have guessed that Tokyo was so funky, and that their greatest funkmeisters are chicks? Then again, the Japanese never cease amaze me. Such great talent and perfection in that island nation. In boxing they gave us the great bantamweight Naoya Inoue, in baseball Shohei Otani, and in music they give us these exciting jazz-funk female musicians. Lot of well-kept secrets way over there!
