This is something that I want to go do so freaking badly in japan. I feel like you get a look at what normal everyday Japanese people like/ do ect. I know that the hobby off ones are more mainstream and they keep the good stuff more or less but I'd also like to go to the smaller second-hand stores in Japan. I know it's tacky but I'm in love with these videos.

I've worked in a second hand store for a short time in the UK and I wish that we had anything like the thrift stores in Japan. Here in the UK you can sometimes find something cool but I usually find that items can be overpriced (at least here in London). I'd love to go to Japan just for the thrift stores let alone sightseeing! Theres just so much variety!

got to love another thrift store video. What I love to do with these videos is to focus on what the camera isn't focusing on, so all the items on the side of the frame. It makes me feel like I am actually there, and being overwhelmed, and it is awesome. I am always impressed at how clean those stores are, unlike our Canadian versions. I seriously could do a lot of damage to my suitcases if I went to that place.

It's still amazing to me how well organised these shops are, when similar shops in places I've lived never seem to be half as well put together. I guess you need it when you have so much stuff, even knowing where things are would leave you needing a lot of time to go through them to find what you want/need.

Ooo I love me some thrift store videos. I have one locally but I don't go there too often, but sometimes I find some old PC games and it's always fun to see what people have dropped off. But the ones in Japan seem to be on a whole different level. I love retro gaming and I'd absolutely love to find some Japan exclusive games. I've been importing some but it's gotta be such a blast to see it in the wild like this! Also I do indeed know what those are, Famicom disc drive games. The Nintendo logo on the bottom is also a copyright protection measure. So you'll see fake carts that will have holes in the bottom to try to match the Nintendo logo.

I love how broad yet specialized this shop is. I know all of the camera equipment probably sits at the top of your list but I really zeroed in on the records and the small cheap figurines. The figurines make great souvenirs for co-workers and friends since you can squeeze them into your luggage with no issue. I also spent some time researching record bars in Tokyo for a vinyl loving friend of mine recently. Also, Tokyo has some great thrift shops that are mainly geared towards clothing out towards Harajuku. We were able to find some really good deals.

Norm, these are some of my favourite types of videos. When people in the States or Canada watch videos of Japan, we are given a video usually full of excitement, thrill, or the unusual because that is what makes for a good video; but just walking around a thrift store or a mall is a great reminder that there are a lot of people that do exactly the same things we do, so thank you for showing that. Also I absolutely love the G-Gundam Laserdisc at 11:23, and I would love to see a video about that girl and her "Survival Games," as I see the Japanese airsoft community come across my timelines every now and again and it boggles my mind to see just how into it they get.
