I look forward to your 35k sub Q&A video on Friday!
@ACommonCauseMTG10 жыл бұрын
You mentioned that you want to see some black mages that aren't moustache-twirling villains. I think you'd like the story of Toshiro Umezawa, one of the primary characters in the Kamigawa saga. He's a mono-black mage whose primary concern is self-preservation, but he's a good man and there are occasions where he'll go out of his way to help others. From Toshiro's lineage also comes Tetsuo Umezawa, a GRIXIS mage of all things, the protagonist during Legends motivated to save his people from the tyrannical rule of Nicol Bolas. Toshiro was so badass that he's the first and only person to defeat Nicol Bolas at his full pre-mending planeswalker strength, outsmarting the god-like dragon and destroying his body. And Toshiro was a mere MORTAL! Not even a walker! So there, two good protagonists, one mono-B and one grixis.

No comments? Well, I noticed the Bitterblossom art in your videos. I agree, the art is awesome, it looks like it could be a work of Van Gogh. Also, I hate Force of Will (it's too powerful and sneaky for my taste to play against), and so I also despise see that card's art show up in a game. But, just as a work of art, I guess it is pretty cool. Also, sorry I used bad grammar in the previous sentence. It was either that, or have a run-on sentence, LOL. Thank you for your Q&As and your other videos. Good day.

As a teenager your segment on how how standard could get even worse in prices is a little alarming, magic is already pretty expensive for me, and to see sets going faster out the door than usual could really be a problem with the price tag. I don't know what im going to do as a player. But when the time comes im sure it will work itself out.

Tolarian Community College you got so excited at the mention of Dungeons and Dragons! much like you, i wasn't able to play DnD until i was an adult. i also met several DnD players at my LGS. that's when i started to play DnD. regarding the high cost of standard... well, currently, we do have relatively cheap yet competitive decks like Boss Sligh and Blue/White Heroic. my hope is that in the future, players can still opt for inexpensive decks and remain formidable. that means Wizards should print out better quality commons and uncommons. i hope this is the case when the new rotation scheme gets implemented to ease the pain on the wallet.

Thanks for another great Q&A video professor. I've been watching your videos since near the beginning, and they've only gotten better with time. Your bit about the changing state of standard and it being overly expensive/possibly overprinted resonated with me. I think it would behove Wizards of the Coast to listen to the voices of intellectual consumers of the their product (such as yourself) and make a solid effort in showing that they respond to such critisisms. Personally, I have mixed feelings about the way WOTC is changing blocks... on one hand, I like that they are cutting out the dreaded 3rd set which always seems to disappoint, but on the other hand, I don't quite like the shortened timespan my preciously constructed standard deck gets to live.

I know this vid is super old and you'll probably never see this comment but, on the note of "good" pure black. I imagine something like an entity that embodies the "force of death" on a plane. Its touch is the end of all things but just as it has the power to end all life it encounters, it stands as a force against untimely ends. Where the stereotypical black mage from another plane might come to gain power and raise an undead army this entity would rise and move against such a desecrator.

Well, the Sultai Humans are trying to overthrow the Naga, so you may not have to wait long! :P I think the Core Set removal will be better for Standard, even in terms of price, because we get a whole Block of NON-Useless Cards. Spreading out the value, instead of having a giant Set that does not Rotate as often bogging up Standard. Besides, Core sets have no Story/Lore/Investment and thus aren't as fun/enjoyable for Players [of all kinds], so getting an extra Block of stories and Lore is amazing, and worth any increased, or decreased, Cost! ^.^

Lucca Bonachela Greetings to Brasil! Yes, I am very worried about what this will do to prices everywhere, but especially to places like Brasil for the reason you describe. Maybe the answer is a different format? Cheers (and you English was not bad at all!)
@caiobpimenta99010 жыл бұрын
hey, im from brazil too but im living in the US now. I do remember that english original cards were very expensive but are the portuguese printed cards that expensive as well? I remember buying cards from american sellers on ebay an get them sent to me via mail to brazil, it was cheaper to buy singles that way and I never had a problem with shipping or damaged products
@Lucca0000010 жыл бұрын
You make a Abzan deck with R$:2.000,00 at least, if you want to buy singles from US you are making a bad gamble since the cards can be confiscated by the customhouse, or might not even get out of the US, that results in Pauper rising to be the format that make the only mtg shop of my city get fullhouse, let's see what will happen in the future..
