aspinall vs ciryl doesnt make the most sense. aspinall vs tuivasa does. aspinall and tuivasa both just finished HW contender gatekeepers (not that derrick isnt a constant threat to the title), and ciryl just lost a title fight, he shouldnt be thrown straight into a #1 contenders fight, which is exactly what that would be. aspinall vs tuivasa, maybe give ciryl a fight against someone in the meantime, then the winner of aspinall vs tuivasa. winner fights for title. makes sense in terms of rankings and it gives ciryl some ground to get back to francis, course unless he loses. dont see tuivasa finishing ciryl, might be trouble for aspinall to take him to the ground. lets learn more from the two fighters.

I mean who really deserves that shot at #1? Lewis is coming off a big KO loss, volkov losing last weekend, I’d say gane vs blaydes if he beats Daukaus the rest of the top 10 are all coming off losses and Stipe now works as a full time fire fighter rather than a part time one balancing g his training so that could rule stipe out or is he waiting for jones? For me outside the tai and Tom the rest of the division is at a stand still

Hey Chael, I usually do not CHIME IN but biggest fight in HW championship history was Shane Carwin Vs Brock Lesnar both weighed in at 265. Also while not 100% sure Carwin had the Interim Title then as well. I remember the hype for that fight, both were monsters, both wore 3XL and 4XL gloves. That 1st Rd was also fire.

@@aroncampos5720 Aspinall is a lot more well rounded than Gane. He has high level takedowns and Jiu Jitsu to his overall game as well as ridiculous speed. He made a Top 10 veteran in Volkov look like a complete amateur. Paddy on the other hand is what you are describing and will eventually come back down to earth once he faces a tough opponent.

Tom wants to go slow but imo he should push for the Francis fight asap. His takedowns worked so well because Volkov wasn't expecting it. If he fight too many people before going for title fight he won't have any surprises left. The less tape the opposition has the better.

Ngannou has a power advantage (that’s the only advantage he has and Tom doesn’t have pillows in his fists either, he’s a big hitter) and that only lasts one round until he gasses, he has sloppy boxing while Tom has done legit pro boxing and been a sparring partner for the Fury’s and he’s also the quickest heavyweight by far. He’s a BJJ black belt and is way superior to everyone else with the wrestling and his ground game. When all a guy has is a power advantage but is out skilled everywhere else then hardcore fight fans know how that go 9/10 times. Ngannou has a punchers chance against Tom in the first round. Tom does everything at an extremely high level, he’s very well-rounded. Tom beats him on the ground, on the feet or the wrestling.

@@MalleusIudaeorum Ngannou is a better kickboxer that’s what matters in MMA also I would give Francis better wrestling considering how he held off Stipe and how he wrestled gane.

Chael, when we are talking boxing + wrestling at heavyweight, we are looking at: Stipe Miocic, Curtis a Blaydes, and Tom Aspinall (possibly the champ too if we consider what he did to the Interim Champion with only one knee). Of the first three… if there next fight were against each other… who would HONESTLY bet on?
