While the 2019 squad was not that good, the team just had 5 straight years of possible SB wins. If a player actually complained because the year after they weren't good enough to win a SB that would be pathetic. That's the same issue I have with the Boston media idiots who complain about 2019. What do they expect? 6 SB wins and 9 SB appearances in 18 seasons isn't good enough? Anyway, after 2019 it was clear that the Pats were old and needed to rebuild. Trying to keep a SB team together will do that. They were old and had no cap space as they were bringing in veterans in 2019 to try to win. It was time to start over. Giving Brady a long term deal while trying to rebuild would probably have been stupid and Belichick knew it. No way they could win in 2020 or 2021 even with Brady. It's not fair for people to think a team should be able to extend a 5 year SB window to 10 years like that is easy. The Patriots actually went 10 seasons without winning a SB in Brady's prime. They actually had 2 separate dynasties with a period of very good, but not quite good enough teams in between. It just isn't easy to build a dynasty. They were better off rebuilding, getting a new QB and moving on. We don't know how well it will all go, but they do have a lot of interesting younger players now to build on. Brady was just clearly just going to want to "win now" when there was no way that would have been possible. And they finally got rid of Josh McDaniels so that's a plus.

Garbage roster? Lmfao. It was not, and that season’s success had so little to do with Tom. They had by far the best defence: - number 1 scoring defence - least yards allowed on D - least yards per play allowed - the most turnovers - least first downs allowed - least completions allowed - second least pass yards allowed - least passing TDs allowed (13), - most INTs (5 more than the next team) - second least yards allowed - least first downs allowed passing - 6th best rush D for yards allowed - least TDs allowed rushing (7) - 3rd least first downs rushing allowed - despite leading the league in turnovers, they also had the 9th most sacks The offence wasn’t great stats-wise, but some of that has to be put on Tom. 24/8 isn’t the best TD ratio when you’re throwing 6 yards per throw with your second leading receiver being an RB. It’s not like he was playing from behind much either or asked to carry the team. The Titans game he was 54% completion for 209 yards (only 3 drops). He had a 20%~ bad throw percentage that game and was pressured less than half as much as Tannehill. Since the second Q of that game the drives were: turnover on downs, 4 punts, and an interception. TB stans don’t want to admit when TB has a bad game or season. Blame everything but him and say it’s not a good team if he doesn’t have the best receivers in the game on his team.

Josh McDaniels is the single most overrated member of Pats organization of past 2 decades. Offense was much better under Bill O'Brien. I liked Weiss better too. Not like McDaniels ran it for 2 decades. McDaniels is so predictable. Even all the stats show it. He sticks to his offense no matter how poorly it's going. He runs too much and gets the team in 3rd and longs all the time. If I can predict most of his calls, imagine what opposing defenses can do. He's horrible. So glad he finally left.
