This game was and is entirely all trial and error. But that's what made it so great. Every level, every section, the order you took on each gaurd. It was all a piece I'd a massive puzzle. We don't get games like these anymore . Nowadays if a player dies, they blame the game or the devs, that instructions weren't clear enough. Ubisoft were a top-tier third party publisher/developer. This game made Xboxes sell back in the day.

I'm pretty sure you already figured this out but if not, did you go to the morque on the lower floor before? There should be some dialogue once you look at the bodies. I had this same thing happen to me but it fixed it when I went back to the morque and got the dialogue.
