Dogs are Gods. Don't spray your dog with Axe though it's way too chemical and strong smelling for him. I put natural essential oils onto the inside of my dog Dave's long ears on the ear flap's leather skin.

Nicki LovesDogs Axe is too strong for your dog but essential oils are ok? How do you determine if your dog enjoys being perfumed with scents you enjoy? A dogs nose is much more sensitive than ours. I bet your dog doesn’t like the smell of essential oils following him around everywhere interfering with the other smells of the world you cant smell that your dog is incredibly interested in.

Turns out, according to Manuel of Rogue, Mousse Iluminee, along with all his others, actually are IFRA compliant. He is now selling these in Europe, because of that fact. I think that says something about most the rest of the industry, that he can make rich, vintage style fragrances within the guidelines. I don't like IFRA, but it seems they are being used as an excuse to give you less for more $.

@5328csabi He stated it in a basenotes forum thread (if you Google search for Manuel Cross basenotes IFRA, you can find it). I take his claim with a grain of salt, though. While I can imagine, that a mostly self-taught perfumer like him can miss some points about perfume industry, it's a bit unbelievable, that someone who crafts perfumes for a living, self willingly neglects a huge market like the EU for years, and doesn't care about IFRA compliance. Maybe I'm the mean one here, but I think it would be a good method to deny the fact of the reformulation to state that the fragrances are "already IFRA compliant". On the other side, he totally seems to be a honest and humble guy. In the mentioned forum post, he talks abot reformulations though (because of a skin rash from some materials). I don't know how these changes the smell affect, because I have only newer batches. The color change is obvious though.

While there are some clever and masterful green fougere fragrances out there which deserve respect , surely mousse illuminee is the holy grail of the genre

Revisited Mousse Illuminee the other day, and it really is splendid! I actually think I enjoy it more than Chypre-Siam, because the latter unfortunately goes a bit murky and bland in the drydown for me. My favorite Rogue is still Derviche though, that creamy tobacco leather gets me every time.

Recently purchased 100ml of beau de jour for 190..really pleased with it.. I then got sent a sample of mousse illuminee and loved it! Then today received sample of new York intense which again is really nice but in order of preference for me it would be beau de jour followed very closely by illuminee then nyi playing catch up. Can't believe illuminee is edt!! Performance is amazing.

Great pairing. Looking forward to smelling those two. I just went mad and blind -bought a 30Ml bottle of Chypre-Siam based on your previous review. I hope I like it...I just got some 1950s Bandit parfum as part of a boxed gift set of 1/4oz bottles in clear glass with Baghari (bit left) and Fracas (sadly evaporated to a tiny residue) and it’s the most wonderful fragrance I have.

Hmmm i blind bought BDJ based on the comparisons with Rive Gauche & i have to say it’s a regret. Just can’t get on with the overbearing lavender so i will stick with RG. Mousse illuminee on the other hand is wonderful 👍

I like all three Tom Ford fougeres but not enough at USD 4.5 per ml. USD 2-3 is my limit for scents like these I think.

How does the Rogue compare to Memoir Man by Amouage? if at all?

Tinker1960 interesting question. I would describe them both as dark, green fragrances, but they smell nothing alike. Memoir has the freshness of the wormwood and the brightness of incense, MI is very thick, oakmossy rich

Worst thing about BDJ was the patchouli drydown and performance... will test again soon

Yes, there is quite a lot of patchouli in the drydown, but I found the performance excellent. I get 10+ hours every time I wear it. One of the best performing TFPB I’ve encountered

I had a fall 'to sample' list and here It's March, still never bought a single sample. Truthfully I was overwhelmed by all the new ( to me ) houses and became overwhelmed! But your channel was reccomended and I've found that your tastes are quite in line with mine. Many of the others simply say yes to every review; possibly due to the free bottles received. I don't know. I no longer can bear mall frags anymore so I'm on the lookout for something that people stop me and ask "what are you wearing?". ☺ Rogue Perfumery don't follow the rules of IFRA correct? That makes that even more intriguing to me. Thank you for responding- another plus that I love about Wafts! Usually the others don't bother with an answer to my questions.

I've just ordered Mousse Illuminee and Chypre-Siam on Etsy. Chypre-Siam is already down to less than a dozen bottles, so no sampling first just took the plunge with 30ml. I never would have known about this if it wasn't for you guys, let's just hope I like it now!!! Although I'm sure I will 😉
