My gf was an extra on Charlie Wilson's War. It was right around Christmas when they filmed. On one of the last days of filming Tom Hanks came out as Santa Claus and handed out presents to the extras. Class act.

YES! That scene shook me, caught me off guard and made me cry. Some of the best acting I have ever seen - the transition from being a hostage with his guard up and the trauma of having witnessed his captor shot in the head by a sniper, to being safe, taken care of and completely vulnerable again.

I always enjoy listening to Hanks interviews because he will tell Hollywood inside stories letting us inside the curtain. On Colbert Hanks told a Forest Gump story how the Studio wouldn't budget the Forest Gump running across the country scenes. So he and Robert Zemeckis agreed to equally take a huge pay cut in return for Points from the profits on the back end not knowing how profitable Forest Gump would be.

Obviously the older you get the more difficult but still... Screaming really does the damage. The low growl vocals are nothing for me to pull off.

Sounds like those scary guys should have got an Oscar because, they scared Tom. That was, though, one of the funniest "show biz" stories I have heard. Also, Mr. Hanks, if you happen to see this, I have always wanted to say, to you, that I appreciate your movies maybe even more, when I realize that no one else could have done the movie -therefor the movie would not of been as good or even produced at all.
