I love how Jennifer really believes and supports Mother! no matter what others say! It's a masterpiece and she defends that statement.
@danaglabeman691911 ай бұрын
I think the issue with mother! is that it's basically classical high allegory, something your average person isn't aware is a thing, let alone finds value in as a piece of film. Classical high allegory had its heyday in the 17th and 18th centuries, so it's conveying a 21st century message using a 300 year old storytelling technique. I also thought is was sort of brilliant, but not everyone's ready to see a medium usually devoted to entertainment used that way. A great many people see the purpose of movies as "tell us a story" and while there's nothing wrong or lesser in that approach, a movie like mother! just isn't made for people who can't/won't approach it on its own turf.

You can tell from how Adam Sandler talks to her that he's probably a fairly humble person who hasn't let fame go to his head (or has recovered from it). He is old enough to know that fame and fortune involve a lot of luck. For every person who has made it big in entertainment, there are thousands of others who are just as talented but have not had that big break. He has also had some projects that didn't go so great and that will give you some perspective too. Jennifer Lawrence is still very young. Early success can make you crazy, you suddenly have money, people say they love you. But, you are surrounded by fake people and you don't know who to trust. So, you have everything and nothing. That is why a lot of young, famous people end up committing suicide. Hopefully she'll keep it together and not end up a member of the 27 club.

But her giggling while saying she refuses to accept people’s social cues and relishing in the opportunity to fangirl to extremes over one of her personal heroes, Adam Sandler all while speaking of getting annoyed at / being rude to fans who see her as their personal hero is almost unforgivingly hypocritical.
@rachels75086 жыл бұрын
Taley I really don't think it's the same. Today Adam is working and she's showing her admiration for his work. If Jennifer was at a premiere or doing anything that's not in her personal time, then she always shows her fans how appreciative she is and signs autographs, etc. But if she is just going about her daily life and someone asks for a selfie then that is very different. I'm sure even if someone came up to her and said "I love your work" then it would be fine. But someone asking for a selfie most likely isn't even a fan, they probably just want to show everyone that they met a celebrity. Also if she takes a selfie with someone then it can be posted on social media within minutes, then all of a sudden everyone knows where she is. There are a lot of reasons for her to do this, as well as the fact that it is rude to interrupt what she is doing to demand a selfie and get angry when she says no.

I also said, "Damn, he's so old now." Then I looked in mirror at my *own* 4 inches of grey hair roots growing out while putting on glasses I now require to examine the hideous wrinkle (aka a tiny little barely cracked fine line) that has began to form down my forehead. No one can see this tiny line but me, but I think its from raising my eyebrows to look at someone judgey because I was a massive jerk from like, 16-25 (I was always more of a sarcastic smart ass than a jerk, to be fair to myself) but now that I'm old (36) I'm a lot more empathetic. Before, I could only see things as black and white and I suppose its fitting that the more I learn not everyone fits into just 2 groups - "bad" or "good" - and in that case, I've fully embraced the grey. Just not all over my hair! (My mom's side goes grey super early, her Grandpa was 100% grey (never bald though) by 17 or something like that. And so now here I am, I have grown into a nice person with just a resting bitch face. I can't help that one, it's just how my face works.. 😂 But yeah, I would have to dye my hair every four weeks or you can see the grey come back because my hair grows so fast. But hey, going grey, needing glasses to see and getting old is still way better than the alternative, right? A lot of us are not so lucky, even if I do have several chronic disabilities, I'm still here and trying my best! It's true tho - the 90's feel like yesterday... so many good times. ✌️ ❤️

Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore.....Classics!! The problem is people/critics don't take the movie for what it is. They want it to give them something that it wasn't meant to give them. If it challenges their humor or Mother! it's somewhere they've never had to go with a movie so they immediately hate on it instead of going on the journey with them whether it's comedy or a challenging drama with tons of symbolism. Not everybody is going to love every movie. But nobody should hate on them as much as they do. Love the actor on actor series. Keep it up!

I was in New York visiting a friend and I saw Adam in a deli my buddy took me too and my buddy kept going "don't make eye contact just leave him alone" so I was literally trying to stare away from him intentionally and something I did made Adam laugh and I looked over and just said "sorry. Big fan." And walked over and talked to me for like ten minutes while he was waiting for his food. So chill.

Jennifer Lawrence needs to take a cue from Adam Sandler. He is so freaking humble, my goodness. You can tell how uncomfortable he was when she was trashing her fans (which she has done in multiple interviews and has said worse than she said here). I loved the part where he said "Nope, I'll even feed them, but no seriously, I just like meeting as many people as I can"......you can tell that the guy knows that without his "fans" he wouldn't be where he is today. Its so funny because Jennifer Lawrence is marketed as this down to earth girl, but in reality is seems super stuck up and unrelatable. Its a shame too because I use to actually like her (I don't know her obviously, but I mean from a couple of interviews I saw), but then as she started to do more interviews and her true self started escaping in each one, it became obvious just how jaded and pompous she really is. You can only be the fake persona your managers and agents assign to your image for so long before the REAL you comes out. Unfortunately, the girl next door was just a marketing ploy.....the real "Jen" seems to be much more self involved and pompous than her team would like to make you think.

sounds like you just don't like Jen and don't get her humour at all. That's your opinion, stop acting like you actually know her as you do not.

I think fame change you in one way or another, even if you wont. I mean all of this star people, they are so famous and so rich they are paid millions of dollars, their standard are so different compared to "normal" people. They can have all the relationship they want, everything they want. Fans at this point become like mosquitos, they are annoying. It very rare to found a celebrity that can truly comunicate and care about the fans, in a meaningful way, It is very hard i think.

Maybe the reason she could be dry sometimes is because she's just growing tired to too much criticisms and the harsh complaints she receives, and it might be affecting her emotionally and deeply, and who knows if she's have tough problems in her personal life that clash in her professional career and it might be affecting the way she works, just let it be who she is, a human being like everyone else

They purposely act bitchy/abrasive and then post txt photos on facebook about how if people don't like them for all their bitchy quirks that they have the problem and aren't worthy of being their friend if they can't handle it. They then bitterly moan about the loneliness and claim how terrible the world is as people give up with the bull and walk away.

I get she chose to be famous, but it does not mean she has to accept what other actors and actresses do! This is why you are my favorite! Your not afraid to deny! What other actors want to do but are afraid because media will talk bad about them. People shouldn't be interrupting you to get the perfect selfie. If she always accepted she would never be able to eat dinner anywhere or walk or do anything. I would be annoyed and exhausted from taking selfies with people all the time. Let just say she'll have to deal with this for the rest of her life but Made it public so the world can know. Maybe some people will be considerate and wont interrupt her after this. Public will always be offended if you don't do what they want.
