As a teen I thought Tom Jones was a joke. As an adult I really appreciate how great he sings and what an amazing voice he possesses. He killed this Ides Of March classic.

You are so right, Shannon. He was killing it right out of the box, starting with Delilah. I'm 68 now (August 2024). My peers back then thought I was crazy to like Tom Jones. I merely recognized great music when I heard it, and I'm a guy - there was no Tom Jones infatuation element in it for me. I hope they look at this clip today and sheepishly realize I (and you) was right.

In 1970, The Ides of March released this single, which sold over one million copies and was, at the time, the fastest-selling single ever for Warner Brothers Records. Hello amazing fan. Thank you for your beautiful comment. I’ve seen a whole lot of “RIP” attached to my name all over the internet. This is the reason I decided to debunk this false new of my demise. Late Ton Jones was the one who conceived the twist on Romeo and Juliet with composer, John Donald Robb. He died on the 11th of August of cancer in his home in Sharon. Please disregard all the false publications on the internet.I’m still alive and much healthy. Thank you beloved fan. For further clarification,I added my personal mailing address on the description and on the Channel banner. Thank you so much, may you have a beautiful day ahead🙏🙏.

Unlike Elvis, Alice Cooper, Abba, Tom did not give his backup bands the spotlight much, Great performer, but not the nicest guy in my opinion. If u played for E, u got a solo+almost equal booking, on the billboard+up front the stage with him, Would not have noticed big Jim if u did not mention it.
