53 yrs old now, but I still clearly remember my mom, aunties, their friends, & hell, even their mothers all and I mean ALL of them, had huge crushes on Sir Tom Jones. Whenever he came on the TV, they would crowd around it & get all giggly like a bunch of school girls. It was funny how they'd yell at us kids (or the husbands) to keep the noise down so they could hear him sing. :-) Elvis Presley was a fan & close friend, often saying that Tom's voice was the best he's ever heard. In fact, Tom's nickname is "The Voice". He is from Wales, UK & celebrated his 80th b-day last June. He can still belt out the songs & was still doing shows until all this stupid COVID business became a reality... I remember watching clips of his concerts & all the women were either fainting & passing out onto the floor or throwing their panties on stage. As a kid, i didn't understand what was driving these ladies so crazy to strip off their underwear to toss them and their hotel room keys at his feet. Now I do understand, it is called the "Tom Jones Effect"LOL - no joke! When you watch other reactors, you can actually see it happen - on their faces, in their eyes, & the body swaying to the music when Tom's smooth, melodic, yet powerful voices hits them. Ok, you must now check out Delilah, Green green grass of home, She's a Lady, It's not unusual, & KISS (with the British band called Art of Noise - they did a cover of Prince's big hit).

Yes, beautiful like a treasured African Princess. Have you a Prince waiting? You should. Girl pretty as you should have 50. The late sixties and early seventies really had that wild groove dance style going on, everyone was doing it and when it's done right in time with the beat, as was shown here, it looks spectacular. Tom was a beast!
@jenniferdjaslowskj9933 жыл бұрын
@@1funkyflyguy Yes indeed, Steve. My sentiments EXACTLY! I LOVED, LOVED to dance and did just like that. That was the "style" and pretty much everyone of that age (20-30) was getting their groove on. Watching Sir Tom doing it live on stage was fantastic. I knew a few guys that were good dancers and some could hold their own. But no one did what he did. Find another performer that could SING AND DANCE...LIKE THAT??? what a treat and thanks to KZbin...can watch it over, and over, and over....

This was 1969 on ABC-TV back in the day. Unlike other variety shows usually shown at earlier hours, Tom's show was on at 10 pm ET, 9 CT, because there were certain things you couldn't do on prime time TV. Eventually, censorship would be loosened up, but it was a very different day then. Still, it was an explosive period in pop music (and the British Invasion) that will never be duplicated again.

Hiya from England I have watched lots of reaction videos over the last 18 months since COVID messed up the human race and what more can i add about Tom. Well first thing is that everyone who has put out a video with a heading " TREAT HER RIGHT" should change it to "TREAT THOSE 2 SISTERS RIGHT" NEVER KISSED 2 SISTERS" Ha Ha What you get from Tom is UNADULTERATED RAW EMOTION AND PASSION with EVERY song. When he walks on to ANY stage he does it with a "SWAGGER" I was only a child in the 60's so it was not until the 70's and 80's that i saw Tom on TV, both on BBC and ITV.. The videos have taken me back to my very much younger days and lots of great memories. What I notice now is Tom wore lots of flowery shirts open down to his navel almost, his trousers were so figure hugging how he managed to get them off, let alone put them on he must have been a contortionist. He also wore bell bottom trousers and HIGH heeled shoes. WOW. I give example in video called TOM JONES LOVE MACHINE. i rest my case My late parents had a small collection of vinyl albums and one was TOM JONES LIVE AT THE TALK OF THE TOWN recorded their in 1967. My album cover is falling apart but the sound quality of the disc 54 years on is wonderful. I recommend you download the album and listen to it

Young lady, everybody loves Tom Jones singing but don't be thinking that he's some great guy who respected his wife. He never did. He married his childhood sweetheart when he was a teenager because she got pregnant and all before he got famous. He was NEVER faithful to her. He slept with any woman who gave him the time of day and always claimed in interviews that his wife had no problem with that. He's come right out and said in interviews that he can't count how many women he's slept with while on tour. His wife never went on tour with him. She was a home body. HE claims that she was OK with him chasing women. She was never interviewed so we will never know i that's true or not. THAT is what Tom Jones the man, is all about. Great singer? Absolutely! Great man? What do you think?
