The way I've always understood it is thusly: The Democrat and Republican parties used to be a single party - the Democratic-Republicans (so original🙄) - that parted ways over the issue of slavery; Republicans were in favor of abolition while Democrats were not. The "slave states" of the South were politically aligned with the Democratic party; the "free states" of the North were politically aligned with the Republican party. No matter what anyone tells you, make no mistake: SLAVERY was THE issue that resulted in the Civil War. Out of that conflict, we got the 13th Amendment (freeing all slaves), the 14th Amendment (officially defining American citizenship (necessary to do across the board now that freed blacks were no longer legally identified as "property")) and the 15th Amendment (granting all the legal rights of being an American to non-whites (it wouldn't be for at least another 50 years until [all] women would get the vote)). Beginning in the Reconstruction Era and lasting until the 1960s (~100 years), the Southern Democrats were actively resistant to the new laws, which resulted in the institution of Jim Crow segregation laws and the charter of the Ku Klux Klan (a paramilitary terrorist organization created by/consisting of white Dems to prevent blacks of exercising their rights as free/legally equal American citizens). The KKK very pointedly served the interests of the still racist Dems through the marginalization/intimidation/murder (re: lynching) of blacks in an effort to limit their participation in American society/politics. The wrongly-venerated Civil Rights Act of the 60s was nothing more than a bait-and-switch by the Dems in an effort to appease widespread public disapproval of segregation and lynching and the obvious prevention of black participation at all levels of American life. The CRA did NOT give blacks what they hadn't already had for a century; it was done in tandem with other policies (all of which are provably racist) to trick blacks into thinking that Reps were the "oppressors" and the Dems were the "liberators", making them believe that the Dems alone had their best interests in mind and that blacks needed to continually give that party their vote (which they shored-up with "generous" social programs designed to annihilate black self-reliance and replace it with *dependence on the government*). *see "urban plantation" for more* More than 70 years later, the black population of America is [predominantly] in a state of unwitting self-enslavement to the very Dems who they have been consistently lied to about the state of their lives. This is being shored-up with the infiltration/domination of every institution (located primarily in the NE USA) - colleges, media, politics, etc. - and the gradual/insidious shift in ideology to the Dem-Left so as to put the message out repeatedly/to new generations that the pre-Civil War attitudes towards non-whites (through provable anti-truths like CRT, DEI, and the 1619 Project, et al) are the natural way of being in the world; this is how a scary percentage of everyone under the age of 40 can truly believe that "black only spaces" are both good for them and for the rest of society. There is a reason why Exodus says that the Hebrews had to wander the desert for 40 years before reaching the "Promised Land"; the sin of the golden calf proved that PSYCHOLOGICAL enslavement is even more powerful than PHYSICAL enslavement and that the generations who were slaves could never adapt to freedom. It would take 40 years for that generation to die off so that their children could inherent freedom and appreciate it. We're seeing the same thing now in modern times with the regression back into the tyranny of bondage. #wakethefuckup

Glad you liked it - but not a surprise. Hey - as you are/were a pilot, I was thinking, and hope you don't mind I suggest a video for you? There is a band called Sabaton (rock/metal) who does **true stories** of war - they don't pick sides, but they instead tell true tales of valor, mercy, heroism and perseverance. The song I was thinking of is called "No Bullets Fly" - the 8:50 long animated story version. It's the true story of a WWII B-17 bomber crew whose plane was shot to sh!t, and a German fighter pilot who went up to finish them off - but seeing the plane condition, instead of shooting them down, he flew closer and saw (through the HOLES in the AIRFRAME) how the wounded airmen were taking care of OTHER wounded airmen and decided "I can't do this" - he then **escorted** the B-17 out of Germany. He flew on their wing knowing the German AA would not fire on the B-17 with the Bf-109 on their wing. It then shows how, 45 years later, the two pilots met and became best friends. As a civilian pilot, and the son of a combat pilot (Vietnam), this song touched my heart - I hope you'll take a look at it.

The first time I heard that the same people who owned rap labels also have their hands in the prison system was an Ice Cube interview. When he said that it all clicked and made sense.
