The media made millions every time they attached the name Michael Jackson to their stories, selling it worldwide to every magazine in every country. It still is that way. That is the real reason why people make controversial documentaries etc. and attach Michaels name to them is because its great marketing. Also, it helps a persons career when they use Michaels name. For example Dan Reed who made the fictional film Leaving Neverland is winning prizes, he is not interested in the truth, just to boost his career and what better way than to use Michael Jacksons name.

He was cash broke. He had 100s of millions of dollars of debt with outrageous interest rates - I’m remember in the 20 % range. The catalog had been used as collateral for these debts. He was no longer the owner of Neverland. He was in financial trouble, yes definitely. His net worth was ok but what’s the point if you can’t touch any of it because you won’t sell any assets?
