That was how Tom met Ringo. The drummer on the album wasn't available for the video. George said, "Ringo can do it." This is from Tom's first solo album, Full Moon Fever.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was my moms (rip mom)fav band! I love them, I grew up listening to them. I considered going to see them on their last tour but money wasn’t right at the time. I was absolutely DEVASTATED when he passed away not too long after that tour wrapped up. I kick myself and wish I would have just spent the money to go… Rip Tom

Tom wrote this after an arsonist set his house on fire with him, his family, and housekeeper inside. They got out unhurt, but it was very traumatizing. Arsonist was never caught. Just 11 days earlier Tom had won $1 million settlement, so a lot had been happening.
