Then after finding out the news was false,and that he was still clinging on to life,that gave me a little hope that maybe he would pull through. I prayed and prayed for him,until his manager officially confirmed his death later that evening. It made me even more emotional. Tom Petty's death sure was a shock to all of us. In 2017, I was living in NOLA and I got to go to JazzFest where Tom Petty was the headliner that year. I will never forget that concert - he sang ALL his classics, despite already not looking great. Four months later he was dead. The one thing I took away from that day was a field full of strangers, including myself, all singing this song with him in perfect unison. It was magical.

I know Elizabeth he was in my city the year before but I was on call for my job and none of my ungrateful coworkers wouldn't trade with me. Then I was living in my camper just moving to a new city for my job. My neighbor came over and told me the news...we broke out his music and drank that night. Tom Petty Mary Jane was one of many songs i sang in My Catholic HS called Bishop Kelley. I memorized the Lyrics just for myself, because i always wanted to be with Kim Basinger after this music video.... i didnt realize My Friend Jared a Guitar Player Loved the song soo much. So at his request i sang Mary Jane... As a Harmonica Player, i even did a Fake Air Harmonica by sounds and motions to replicate Tom's ... All the Classmates Jaws just dropped, they also believed and thought i was playing a Real Harmonica, to the point they searched Me and My Backpack.🤣🤣🤣 .. i Miss Tom Petty, i wished He was still Here cause i would have Loved to have met Him, I Love Him and His Music so Much.. This whole album reminds me of my x gf that was murdered. 😢😢😢 This record was always playing in her car... A gorgeous woman and a great kinda woman. The type that didn't need a man and could raise 3 kids on her own.. A good mother and her two smart and wise daughters live on as proof.. That's why it hurts so bad that some dude clipped her and her/his son then himself... She didn't need him!!!! I've known this girl for 30 years and when I was with her, She had her own EVERYTHING and was so independent. Tom Petty songs make these memories so vivid and close.. Angel loved Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's.. We both do.
