I was in that crowd, at 17. The summer between high school and college. Our backs were to that tv screen in the center of the crowd (I didn’t even know there was a monitor the other side ... we just thought it was lights and rigging or whatever). Tom was definitely a highlight on a day full of highlights.

I remember watching this on TV when I was 11 years old. I had never heard of Tom Petty but I was blown away by his set (Wow! 🤯 Who is this guy!?) I begged my Mom that we go to the record store to find some Tom Petty albums 🙏 And a couple of Days later we went! We ended up buying Tom Petty "Hard Promises" & "Southern Accents". I still own those records... And they're still in VG+ condition 🕵️‍♂️

@@danswang Covid-19 is real, I've had it. It was essentially an afternoon slipping into the what I'd describe as the equivalent of 3 days of the worst flu I've ever had followed by about 2 more days getting better. Like around 99.95% of cases in my age group I didn't die and like around 99% of folk in my age group I didn't require professional medical treatment. No I'm not getting the vaccine. I see no need. Why would I want a rush developed vaccine which last time I checked no brand of was to any significant degree certified to actually protect you or others from covid-19? Being a human being in reasonable health I'll trust my immune system thanks. After all it worked perfectly fine the first. Plus there is the simple fact that as I pointed out this nonsense started off as simply "a few weeks to flatten the curve" has turned into 14 month of misery and economic destruction, all over a virus that kills around as many folk as a particularly bad flu season. I've been saying from the offset the way to deal with this pandemic is to help those who need to (and more importantly want to) shield while letting the rest of us get on with our lives.
