Rainy day in Los Angeles and an acoustic version of this song popped up on Pandora. Found your page and started playing along immediately. Amazing, thank you for a little sunshine on a cloudy day.

Well that was really cool I haven't played that song in four years or so. So I played it through a Looper using power cords and then played the run with the cowboy chords and it really came up pretty cool. I open tuned my other Strat and my problem is always been trying to play slide! So I'm going to learn at this time for sure thanks for the lesson man.

I sent a request of Lou Barlows Too Much Freedom. Hope you'll consider it. There's not any lessons I can find, and the picking/strumming thing he's doing is interesting. Can't quite get the hang of it. Also your voice might really fit this beautiful song.

Hi Rob! In this song, do you feel like it's easier to do mostly down strokes when strumming? I ask because of the quick changes in the chorus. Awesome tutorials by the way. Thank you.

Dean Macka here is an article about Petty writing” I Won’t Back Down” Before recording Full Moon Fever, an arsonist burned down Tom Petty's house while he was in it with his family and their housekeeper. They escaped and spent much of the next few months driving between hotel rooms and a rented house, but Petty was badly shaken. It was on these drives that he came up with many of the songs for the album, and the fire was a huge influence, especially on this song. Petty felt grateful to be alive, but also traumatized - understandable since someone had tried to kill him. "I Won't Back Down" was his way of reclaiming his life and getting past the torment - he said that writing and recording the song had a calming effect on him.

Hey can you do Dust in the Wind by Kansas? I've been trying to find a good video on KZbin but I can't find one. Thanks!
@rudyramirezjr23097 жыл бұрын
Actually the slide guitar was done by George Harrison, not Mike Campbell. Mike does it live.
@swiftlessons7 жыл бұрын
+Rudy Ramirez Jr pretty sure George played acoustic and sang harmony. That's according to Wikipedia.
@rudyramirezjr23097 жыл бұрын
swiftlessons I'm pretty certain that's incorrect. I'm a huge fan and know George's trademark slide sound and it's George. It's a little strange for a Beatle and lead guitarist to play rhythm. Oh well.
@rudyramirezjr23097 жыл бұрын
Well, I rarely believe Wikipedia because it's rarely correct, I looked inside the album linear notes and it confirms George did in fact play acoustic guitar on that track. Can't believe it, Mike totally bit off his style, but that is Mike. Not to take away from Mike, he's one of the most underrated guitarists in rock.

Your lessons are really greats but I think you're putting way too much reverb on your voice compare to the guitar, or your reverb is too long but the rest is very good
